I thought the movie was good... Only shyt that bothered me was the fact that Idris and the Asian dude were so willing to die with the ship... The scenes that were supposed to be "emotional" I guess just came off.. I don't know, awkward? Like the convo that Idris had with the lead right after her husband reeked havoc in the loading bay...
Other than that I think it was a good film... Everything made sense and I wasn't left scratching my head at anything. The things I didn't understand I just assumed would be answered in the next film....

How are cats still asking obvious questions like what was dude doing in the first scene? They show you his DNA helix breaking down then show it rebuilding right after then they show you humans.
Obviously the black goo is some kind of dna mutagen,worms into acid spitting cobras,dude into engineer looking zombie. Seems like it was designed to make bio-weapons though.
You think a lost writer would know by now how much people hate the ambiguous and unanswered questions from all that "positive feedback" lost has gotten from leaving people hanging. Now we have to hope a sequel happens and pray that they don't create new questions without answering the old ones

All in all, I'm rolling with the lazy writing theory on this movie. They did a horrible job of conveying stuff. There's absolutely no evidence of them wanting to destroy earth besides the girl saying it. The frozen engineer didn't go ham until David said something. We don't know what he said,he could've told him we taking you to earth to experiment on you or something. They never clearly let the viewers know if the robot is following orders or doing his own thing at time which renders waylan useless. But then again waylan being on the ship renders charlize Theron useless. Waylan is trying to cheat death,dead scientist comes back to life,they kill him and leave the body right there don't study it. Old engineer head goes on ship but live scientist can't because of germs when they have a quarantine room. You find the greatest discovery in the history of mankind what do you do? Arrange balls on a pool table.Something killed all the engineers on their ship, but let's not find out what. Biologist scared of his own shadow but tries to pet alien snake. Going into unknown alien land? Don't take any weapons.

Wow, i have never seen a theater so silent when a movie ended and so many people rushing for the door. It was kinda like everyone was wondering "What in the hell did i just pay 7 bucks to see". Plot was trash and there were lots of things that people were questioning. Like this woman was outside in a sand/glass storm for a minute and when she got on the ship there wasnt a single scratch on her, not one. Yet those meal worm monsters can crack the suit like its nothing. One of those engineers took out like 5 people and was just killing every person it saw and your idea is to go to a planet full of them to talk? All of those engineers died on that ship due to being unable to control whatever that black stuff was and now you on your way to God knows where for nobody knows how long with another ship full of that shyt.

It doesnt have to be different planets since robot dude said there were more ships. Obviously we can come up with many scenarios that explain why it didnt happen, I just thought it would have been nice to make that direct connection.
