In June 2012, Lindelof stated that while plot elements were deliberately left unresolved so that they could be answered in a sequel, he and Scott thoroughly discussed what should be resolved so that Prometheus could stand alone, as a sequel was not guaranteed.

I gonna on seeing it again later this week.

i kust touched down from peepin this shyt, i personally thought it was cool, i can ovastand y some of ya'll ninjaz feel dat way doe.maybe its been answered in this thread but i aint read dat far back, but did nikka idris go meet charlize in her room after she told him 10 minutes??? i know they aint show it but u would atleast thought it would get acknowledged or alluded 2 later in da movie.....

I saw the movie over the weekend in IMAX. I thought it was great like many others. I've been reluctant to talk about the movie on the internet because there is a vocal minority of movie goers nerds who can't let a movie stand on its own. It must be compared to Alien or whatever. They complain about plot holes but don't even know what that means. Just because you had a hard time understand something doesn't mean it must suck.

There is a difference between not understanding something & just blatant lazy writing. If some people thought this movie was spectacular then it is what it is but some of us can see right thru it for what it really isn't...

I thought it was good... overrated... but I'm still going to go see the Sequel...

I don't see that many people calling it "spectacular". Most say it was a good/decent film with great visuals.

And Sci-fi movies have always had ducktale stories unless it's just a classic.

I dont mind movies setting up a sequel but when they do that, they hinder and short change the original. Instead of going all out and making a "classic" they leave a bunch out hoping to include even better action, story lines and bigger climax for the sequel or threequel when its not even gaurenteed a sequel will be green lit. Prometheous couldve been a potential classic but they too busy looking ahead instead of putting full effort in this one realease.

Some people just are oblivious to the mechanics of a movie.

The same people that are trying to diss the people for criticizing the movie. You all are like people who go to hear a band play, and regardless of missed notes, tempo being-out of synch....tone issues...you would still walk out oblivious to all that

Prometheus was a good movie...with horrible writing...and because of that...it is not great..and it had the potential to be

They basically treated it/wrote it like an episode of Lost.. and for the amount of plot holes it had I don't think another movie will be able to answer everything. On the low I think that sequel talk is an excuse to cover up the bad plot and editing job. "oh we're thinking long range, sequels, novels, comic books, cartoon specials, etc" GTFOH You have two hours to tell a story, so tell it.
