I dont think players really care as much about this as fans.

I think it's more important we (the NBA) address the lack of diversity where we have the most need at then looking at this.

but like i said this is fine as well, but we can't get distracted on the REAL ISSUE.
how can you say you want diversity yet not want a women coach? this isnt diversity.

Like I said, this is a fan's issue. I dont think players care that much.

Sure, I think Becky Hammond is going to be a really good coach. She has already turned down some offers in D-I both men and womens.
And this is the problem I have. Becky Hammon has sat on Popovich bench for 2 years, that is the totality of her coaching experience and yet we're having a discussion about when we're going to have a female head coach in the NBA and this is the name that's popping up. It's not even about other qualified men being passed on jobs there are female coaches significantly more accomplished than Becky Hammon. Cheryl Reeve, the head coach of the Minnesota Lynx has been coaching in some capacity since the late 80's, has coached her team to championships and is the winningest coach in WNBA history. If the conversation about bringing more female coaches into the NBA game even at an assistant level doesn't start with women with that caliber of a resume then its a farce.

They're both important. They just happen to be interested in this one. Nothing wrong with that. If a league is incapable of being able to address these issues concurrently then that's a problem.

the lack of african americans in more lucrative positions (in a league being 75% black) is far more important than a lack of female coach (in a league where 0% of the players are females). That's my opinion. Like i said it's great having a women as a head coach, but more things should be a bigger priority.
