Economy was an excuse. Racism was the actual reason. If it was really about the economy they would have looked at how it performs when Democrats are in office vs Republicans for like the last 50 years.

Good point but we're not talking about a country halfway around the world. We are attached to the US and do most of our business with them. US is pretty self-sufficient. Canada has fukked royally by not diversifying its economy. If those tarriffs last longer than a month or two, it will destroy entire industries.
You can choose to remain a hostage in an abusive one sided marriage or run into the open arms of someone who actually wants a mutually beneficial relationship with you.
America is not forever, nor are they your creators or saviors.
Canada is pretty industrialized enough to make new friends and open new markets up.
If Canada is americas biggest trading partner, those tarrifs will hurt Americans more long term.

Where was the money going? Escorts, cocaine, yachts, overpriced suits, stocks, houses. The usual slop these a$$holes spend their money on.

The real economy exists, but unfortunately for America it exists OUTSIDE of America in countries that regulate their CEOs, reduce the barrier of entry for school, and invest in companies and organizations that can produce products and services that solve real problems that normal people have not "what if I didn't have to pay my programmers, art departments or customer service so i can get more money for myself" or "what if i could pass other peoples work off as my own" type problems.
