I take everything that the ramsey disciples say with a grain of salt.

I don't believe in NOT having credit cards. I've never paid a penny in interest, thus, they are paying me for every transaction. but I use my credit cards like a debit card. whenever I buy something, I simply pay it off in full the next day. so my balances are almost always at 0.

I don't believe in ONLY taking 15 year fixed rate mortgages. I belive a 30 year is better cuz the payment is lower, and there is not penalty for paying it early, thus giving u more flexibility

also, jade is pretty hot. but she is on that :mjpls:

the program they are talking about is NOT what this thread is about. they are talking about the way apple allows u to pay in installments. this thread is about the high yield savings account.

How to set up Savings

  1. On your iPhone, open the Wallet app and tap Apple Card.
  2. Tap the More button
    the more button
    , then tap Daily Cash.
  3. Tap Set Up next to Savings, then follow the onscreen instructions.
When opening Savings, you'll be asked if you want to transfer funds from your Apple Cash balance to your new account to start earning interest on that money. If you don't want to transfer your Apple Cash balance, just tap the Close button

. If you want to transfer funds, tap Transfer Your Apple Cash and follow the onscreen instructions.
If you have any Daily Cash available to redeem as an Apple Card statement credit, that Daily Cash will be transferred to your new Savings account when you set up Savings.
If your Apple Card account is restricted or locked, you may not be able to open a Savings account. If your Apple Cash or Savings account is restricted or locked, you may not be able to transfer money to or from Savings. To access your funds, you'll need to contact a Savings Support Specialist.

The unknown
I was thinking about signing up with them a few months ago, but I read a lot of bad reviews about them

Had them for a couple months now...not bad at all IMO

The trick I learned is to initiate transfers from your bank vs from UFB.
If you do it from UFB then it'll take 5 business days to make it to the account.
Other than that the customer service has been A+

that is good for a savings. i have my emergency savings in ally and get 3.75%. i just don't like having to sign up for their credit card. i checked it out and the rewards program isn't that good compared to other options.

I only use my apple card for the categories that pay 3% (nike/apple/panera/walgreens), cuz I have a BOA visa card that pays me 2.625% on EVERY purchase outright, so I use that on damn near everything other groceries, which my BOA mastercard pays 3.25% on and online shopping which BOA mastercard pays me 5.25% on. I use my costco citibank visa to buy all my gas at 4% and all my travel and restaurant purchases at 3%.

I actually have a hack with my BOA mastercard that allows me to get 5.25% cash on walmart, amazon, target and apple purchases. when u buy them using your phone app, it counts it as an online purchase even if u are at the store using the app.

that is smart.

i had my TD card that i made all purchases on and redeemed points for an extra 10% when i transferred my points to my brokerage account. once TD got bought out by schawb they got rid of that so i just use my amex gold for everything. i'm too lazy to switch between cards.
