Are we taking brand loyalty too far?

WHAT ELSE WOULD WE TALK ABOUT IF WE WEREN'T STANNING? IT'S FUNNY SO STOP KILLING THE VIBE YA BISH.

let's go here. when a movie comes out do you check the studio that created it before going to see it and do you only see movies from studio X? can you talk about movies without arguing over the studio that made it?

spouting talking points isn't even really having a conversation. its like democrats and republicans debating on cable news. both sides shout talking points in an argument nobody will ever win or lose because neither side is going to admit the other is right. they'll either counter with another talking point on the same subject or try to switch the conversation to one on a different subject.

if i come on here and say Nintendo won the current generation with the Wii. people will argue against this fact with their talking points. well Nintendo was last gen with their tech, or if you only consider a limited scope Nintendo didn't win or some other bs. at that point its not even a factual conversation.

SONY is CLEARLY better than anything Microsoft. :snoop:
This is coming from a 360 stan (07-10). Once i got a PS3 my life was changed. i suggest you take heed and support Sony because M$ is robbing people blind. :troll: Nintendo>>>>>>

I started with Nintendo and ended up with Sony. Since the PS2 Sony seemed to cater to me the most. I look at what the other systems have to offer and honestly can't find a reason why I should give them a chance.

SO THEN IGNORE THOSE CATS AND CONVERSE WITH THE SERIOUS PEOPLE. MOST THREADS HAVE AT LEAST 2-3 CONVERSATIONS GOING ON. THE MAIN CONVO, THE JOKERS, AND THE DERAILERS.

the whole concept of sports is built on brand loyalty. that's the entire appeal of sports is having and following a team. there's a difference between being a sports fan of a team and saying i only brush my teeth with Crest toothpaste and nobody should use Aquafresh.

So are we going to pretend that sports fans on here and elsewhere do not shyt on fans of other teams especially rivals. If you believe that something is the best and are asked of your opinion you willsay so be it stanning or defending.

not really for the sole reason that the same developers make the same games on both consoles. sure they have their first parties but the difference is marginal. its Killzone vs Halo, Gears vs Uncharted.

now if we were comparing the PS3 to the Wii U one is clearly the superior product and one is clearly inferior at this point. its Uncharted vs please be patient as we try to get games to market.

You pay that much money you might feel like a complete idiot for buying the wrong one.

overall i think Playstations legacy>>>>>> Xbox's and rivals Nintendo. i dont care about 3rd parties because most of the good games are on PC which can be considered the superior version. Either way now that i have a gaming pc exclusives matter to me more.

The Original Rec Room Gang
we've reached a point where we're arguing over cell phone operating systems that are marginally different and have most of the same software developed by the same developers. arguing over video game consoles that have 90% the same library and maybe get 10 or so exclusive titles a year out of hundreds of releases.

some of us are basically volunteer advertisers marketing these companies products for them for free.

i'm all for having preferences but if you can't play Uncharted because its on the Playstation and you're an Xbox brand warrior that doesn't make Uncharted a bad game it just means you missed out on a good game to remain loyal to something that has no reward for your loyalty.

there's a difference between having a preference and illogically convincing yourself a non-preferred brand is bad because it doesn't align with your preference. especially to the point where you miss out on things you'd like because of that.

You just ether'd the majority of PS3, Android & iPhone STANS in one post

Now you back to your bullsiit wimpsy. Nobody is disputing the Wii sold the most consoles to date, but it's a fact Xbox and PS3 will sell more than the Wii once it's all said and done. What has never happened before was a company attempting to sell a console with a new control scheme as a new console. The Wii was a GameCube with a Wii-more and a sensor bar that could of been an add-on. I knew this, once everyone else realized it the console died immediately. I then told you the next console would be Nintendo's last and that the Wii-U's would basically be a dead console 6months after the Xbox One hits. Only thing I was remotely wrong about was how long it would take to soupass the Wii in total sales. But even that is not my fault because know one expected them to keep the prices of the systems that high for this long. Now if you want to discuss this further, I'm all ears

If i buy an LG TV and its a good TV i'd do business with them again but i am not loyal to that brand. i'm in the market for a TV and whoever makes the best TV next go round will get my money. if in 2017 LG's flagship TV is inferior to Sony's flagship i'm not gonna irrationally defend LG or try to slam Sony to justify that fact.

brand loyalty is a disservice to yourself as a consumer. as a consumer you should be looking for the best deal on the highest quality product.

if Apple drops iOS 7 and its widely considered to be far superior to the next version of Android there are people here that wouldn't buy the next iPhone even if it was better because they are brand loyal to Google.

Yeah, but companies nowadays are forming more personal relationships with customers. Through better customer service and perks and things like that. These days you have more things to evaluate. Yeah, you may be able to get something a lil cheaper but do you have the same rapport with the new company?

Also in your case of Apple and Android, operating system is just one aspect of many people consider when looking for a new phone.

You've spent upwards of a grand on two systems that play 90% of the same games. You lost.
if you have the disposable income and that's your hobby than that's not a loss.

from my perspective if a game i wanna play comes out i want to be able to buy it regardless of the platform. i don't ever wanna see a game i want to play and have to go i don't have that so i can't play it.

saying they'll close an almost 20 million consoles sold gap is a stretch. it could happen but with the cycles moving on to the next generation that's questionable.

flagship cell phones have reached a level of parity where they all offer similar specs and hardware quality and from a functionality standpoint they all can do the same things they all have cameras, play music, play videos, gps, have internet, ect.

one may be a better fit for you as a user but an iPhone 5 really isn't that different from a Galaxy S4 in terms of core functionality. maybe you like the bigger screen but someone else may not for example. its not like its a smartphone vs a dumbphone.

I bet if I analyzed your spending habits I could find similar expenses that I'd consider a "loss"... My bills are paid, I live comfortably and I enjoy video games, don't have any problem having paid what I've paid for the systems and the games.
