No. The only thing that blew u0 business since 2010 was the Nexus story, the Rock return, and when Bryan became champion. Lol@Punk being a draw. Online fans responded big because he said real names..That's about it. It did not blow up ratings, sell shows out, or increase buyrates on a substantial level.

It was getting mainstream attention though. Rolling Stone, ESPN, TMZ, GQ, and Esquire all came asking for Punk interviews.

A brief slight boomerang period but the WWE doesn't have their ducks in a row for a boom period, and let's be clear, a boom period can only happen with WWE leading the way. Indies and other smaller promotions are only pulling from the existing pie WWE created.

I believe WWE is creating new women fans though but not enough to call it a boom period and maybe only enough to stabilize the exodus of men to MMA.

how many new fans did it bring in?

how many old fans did it bring back?
How are you possibly going to measure such a thing?
Video views? His entrance at Summerslam on YouTube on Wwe’s channel was one of the most watched videos ever. The pipe bomb video is still a top ten viewed Wwe video. He led merch sales before during and after the pipebomb by a wide margin. Not one superstar of the past 8 years has organically carried Wwe and brought in fans besides cena or an a wrestler over the age of 40

The boom can come from njpw making a solid spot in America and creating a mix between Japanese and gaijin guys. Njpw production is easily digestible and also makes the product feel like a sport versus Wwe always feels like a television show

People that are saying we are in a financial boom :what:

The reason the WWE is making more money now is because there is so many more ways for them to make money now compared to back in the day

They did not have streaming services, if the WWE network comes out during the attitude era or golden era they would've at least tripled the numbers of subscribers they have today. That goes for any other streaming service available.

If the attitude era or golden era happens today it makes at least 3x the amount of money WWE is making now and they would be bringing in over a billion dollars revenue.

When I say financial boom, I'm talking about the whole industry including guys outside the WWE getting paid. I'd argue that there's more guys making a healthy living off of wrestling right now than in the past.

The fanbase has gotten smaller but you could argue that the people leaving were never spending money wrestling in the first place.

Everywhere
We're in a boom.

But it's not at the forefront of pop culture like the Attitude Era or Rock & Wrestling. To do that they'd probably need to figure out how to book like Walking Dead or Game of Thrones :heh:

you really didn't answer my question.
as for the bolded, when a boom period goes down, people that aren't really into wrestling like that will be tuning in and talking about the product in droves.
was there even a ratings spike during the time period that youre alluding to?

I'm not saying it cant happen, but NJPW is nowhere near being in a position to do such. theyre based in a whole different continent, and ran 2 shows here one weekend MONTHS AGO. their biggest form of exposure is being on an HD channel that most people have never heard of. most WWE stans don't even know it exists, let alone non-wrestling fans.

TNA a decade ago, made more of an impact(pun intended).

this isn't a boom period. its just a good time to be a serious wrestling fan.

then why are so many of them rushing over to the WWE to be mis-used??
