Yeah, February is the anual CMLL shows in Korakuen. I meant business wise in Mexico though, I have no clue how well they are doing after the big Atlantis vs Ultimo Guerrero that did big business.
U live in Chile, right? What kind of shows are down there??

Yeah the fan base that’s willing to watch live is smaller but WWE keeps making the same amount of money so they’re in a financial boom of sorts.

Edit: Crazy thing about that chart is that pre-1998 wrestling had at least double the amount of fans when accounting for WCW.

View media item 7470Y'all still think NJPW is actual competition.

NJPW been around for like 30 years & ain't never been competition.

What the WWE does so much more than NJPW which isn't even based in the states.

WWE is a brand that's established themselves as the forefront of the genre for 50+ years. Way more to it than just wrestling.

They got toys, video games, their own network, etc

NJPW & any another company running today can't be compared to that.

The Indy's will continue to be what they've been since wcw & ecw closed up. Another avenue for talent to get work until the WWE decides who they want to cherry pick from.

They just drew 34,000 people and Bushiroad is a pretty big company in themselves that sells toys and video games. If new Japan can crack India or China before WWE they’ll be fine.

WWE might have English speaking countries on lock but I’m not so sure other languages can’t be successful.

That wasn't in the states tho.

The wwe as a brand is far too establish & njpw is too different for the casual viewer out here.

There's a couple of indys that have been up and down in the last 3-4 years. 2016-2017 was pretty successful though as most shows did pretty well and we got a couple of big events that were promoted by Hugo Savinovich (former latin color commentator in the WWE, among other things).

:what: :scust:

New Japan is older than WWF - as a non territory promotion - and was doing bigger business than WWE in the 90's before the Attitude Era.

I do agree that they are not even close to compete in 2018.

It's gonna be a big deal when Bryan leaves the WWE. Its gonna be dissected, be so many articles about how the WWE could let the biggest star leave the company, and his effect in a Japan or other spots.
I hope he does Japan and the indies :banderas:

Popularity wise hell no

Only time they had a boom coming was with CM Punks pipe bomb promo and they fukked it up bad
No. The only thing that blew u0 business since 2010 was the Nexus story, the Rock return, and when Bryan became champion. Lol@Punk being a draw. Online fans responded big because he said real names..That's about it. It did not blow up ratings, sell shows out, or increase buyrates on a substantial level.

World star is the measuring stick? Lol. It was seen on YouTube too but it damn sure didn't blow up the WWE in 2011.
