The poll was made in the UK so in that context it sorta makes sense that Lara is over Mario since Nintendo isn’t as popular in the UK.

Mario, Sonic and Pac-Man are the characters multiple generations can easily identify. (Including baby boomers) Anything else is almost generational specific.

Chun li is an incredibly underrated Chatacter. She's the go to video game whore character for Halloween dress up.

My parents are in their 70's and they don't know who the fukk is Kratos, Master Chief, Laura Croft etc. But they know Mario, Sonic and Pac-Man.
