Laura, Mario, Pikachu, sonic, pac-man.
Are the only ones your average person could pick out of a lineup and get their name correct.
Master chief, Kratos, solid snake, steve, would be “that video game dude” to the masses.
The rest??? naw, don’t nobody give a fukk about them. I play hella games and even I have no idea who “shadowheart” is

Mario, Sonic, Pac-Man, and Pikachu. People’s moms don’t know who Kratos is.
Oh, and maybe they would call Link “Zelda”

I’m surprised they ranked Laura above Mario. I’d say everyone knows Mario more so than Laura Croft.
Like, if you were to show the two pictures to a mother over 40, she’d know Mario right off before being able to name Laura

I think Laura is probably as well known as mario, but like Jaguar said, people would call her “tomb raider”
She is, but I’d imagine the average person picking out Mario before Croft.
Mario is like the most iconic character ever. Most people could see Mario and know about the video games. If people saw Croft, I dunno. They might think she’s a movie character. Plus Mario has been consistently good every generation. Tomb Raider has too (I liked the new games a lot), but the last game was a while ago, and definitely not better than Mario Odyssey or Mario Wonder
