My nikka you got a kid, theres no such thing as a non self respecting job when you got a son. IMO, take a job like some of the other brehs said, like a bus driver or something to that effect, stack up some bread, and enroll in a two year program. HVAC is a huge field to get into, lots of companies hire people for maintainence, and it probably wont cost too much nor take too long for you to get ya feet wet.

Or join the national guard, get that college money while you work something to pay the bills.

Theres always options, but you gotta get off ya high horse b

Where you live breh?

I took a customer service position at Geico just to get in the door when I was 22, I became a claims adjuster after a year and half. They paid for me to get my insurance license in 22 states.

At Geico huh.....How many times you call the IT Help Desk? LOL... we hated taking calls from yall......never wanted to restart your laptops and 90% of your problems had to do with CCC anyway...lol

Barback part time. I do that on the side 2-3 nights a week. During the winter/spring I was making an extra $500-$600 a week, straight cash homey ! Now that its summer and heads are hitting up the jersey shore, more like $300-400 a week. Sheeit for the eagles preseason game on thursday night I brought home $250. It's gon' be on a poppin in another few weeks. Plus you meet chicks :shaq: :takedat:

This is my advice.

A) Look for a bartending job at a nice restaurant or lounge. Study for your real estate license over the next year.

B) Start looking for a car salesman position. My friend who is a mechanic is making for money selling GMC than he ever did as a licensed mechanic.

nah.

and don't you have to pay fasa back?

why would i let the government loan me shyt that I wouldn't be able to pay back? that would just make my situation worse

You speculating breh.

Nah, you don't have to pay back the grants. The amount of money they give you depends on the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) score you get. You broke, not married (I guess) and have a kid...Most likely you will get a zero which is good cause they will give you the full amount of money. Unless you going to a crazy expensive school, that will pay for all your classes and books. They also offer the Stafford loans and shyt, that's up to you to touch or not, That you have to pay back but the Grants you don't.

You can even go to a community college and learn a trade or something with that money. Keep your grades up and you good.

i was in the same boat as you. im 25 now with 2 kids, but when i had my first kid i was working 40 hours a week at a gas station for 8.50 an hour. mos def wasnt cutting it.

got a second job as a bus boy at a high end restaurant and worked my way up to a server after 2 years. i hated it for the longest and felt i was disrespected but those 2 years payed off. now im a server making 150- 200+ five days a week plus a 300-400 paycheck every two weeks im eating good.

plus there talking about opening up another restaurant and having me run it.

even after all my good fortune i still want to go to school and do something else. i dont want my kids to have to tell there friends there dad is a server while they tell them there dad is some fukkin NASA engineer or some shyt.

what im trying to say is work hard in whatever you want and it will pay off.take care of your children first. in the end i know i got it very good where i am at and i still strive for more, but reality is reality, and how stupid would i be leaving a job making 40-50k a year to risk throwing that all away for a "respectable" career.

i will still go to school, but unless i get a job offering 60k plus, ill stay where im at

priority's my dude.
