I have a Raspberry Pi with XBMC + Navi-X installed. Awesome setup. Total cost was like 35 bucks.

It's decent, it can play most files except for .vob .. other than that, it's awesome and it's real cheap.

I keep hearing WD is the best media player out there. I might cop one of those in the near future.

I would say a NAS + htpc is the way to go otherwise just go with the wd.
