"According to author George R.R. Martin, Dorne is loosely inspired by Spain, particularly the south's Moorish heritage, which culturally sets it apart from the rest of the country and of Western Europe."
Dorne

Can't find a direct quote though.

That was obvious.

Westeros is all based on Europe during the Middle Ages.

Plus, the Dothraki are based on wild, nomadic Arab tribes.

The Summer Isles is still mostly unexplored (by Europeans) Africa.

I'm sure you're bothered by this topic though. :pachaha:

Noticed I ask why you made the same thread in different sub forums not attacking you or getting defensive. Nice try. Like someone said you probably didn’t get the correct response in the film room so you ran here

I made the thread in the Film Room, someone suggested making it in TLR because it was a hot line there, it''ll potentially be a hot song here. Two threads is hardly indicative of spamming or obnoxious behavior. It was mildly amusing to say the last to see the responses. Let's not act like we're suddenly above the fray now.

But he gets done dirty in every production I've ever seen him in lol.

Melisandre and Grey Worm also. It's definitely lacking black people. Also really ain't feeling how Khaleesi is this great savior of melanated people. I'm not dwelling on it though.

True

Also in the books, one of the Sand Sisters is described as Black. However, her character isn't on the TV show.

There's also random Black people walking around in the background in a few scenes :troll:.

It would have been nice to explore their continent more.... :francis:

This. People don't realize when they're just being pandered to.

?????? That doesn't make any sense. It well established in the books that the Targs are blonde, paleskinned white folks.
:yeshrug: So with a minimum of 3 books left to write, there isn't enough time to introduce a group from a different region, or at least mention it in conversation? :stopitslime:

I dont know why nikkas applaud sticking to their guns and avoiding a portion of the cultural zeitgeist. Like when people say they dont wanna listen to whatever genre is hot or they dont watch marvel movies

Supposedly the Targ set was suppose to be Black but the writer feared CACs won't support the story/novel/show
Honestly he was right. Ion think there's anyway this series takes off the same without Emilia Clarke

Cruisin’
It actually subverts the trope. In a way, the reaction to her character is tragically funny. People seeing her as a saviour when she is clearly a tyrant who fukked up the places she liberated.
That's...you're right and wrong. She did free all those slaves in Mareen and the Free Cities. But it seems like the Westerosi are giving her that tyrant cold shoulder. They know the history of a certain Dragonlord flying to Westeros and "conquering" the realm. Although Aegon was a good king, his descendants were crazy. I think the show is doing a good job now, of showing Dany as a potential tyrant.
