Are Nike products actually high-quality and worth the money or are they just over-hyped

yes the three main brands (UA, Nike and Adidas) are all normally solid quality (do have a pair of Adidas where the damn stripes fell off though on the left shoe but I got those as part of a half off sale so that might have explained it) there is the name brand mark up but you can't really go wrong with them.

This article has your answer
How Much It Costs Nike to Make a $100 Shoe

It costs nike less them $30 to make a shoe that retails for $100 which means they rarely use high quality materials (expensive) and fine hand stitching (time consuming) in order to save money and time and maximise profit.

Common sense dictates lesser known premium brands will offer significant value for your money as they do not have the brand regonition to get away with nike and addidas's high way robbery of their customers see apple and samsung as well. soi for these brands, they must use high quality materials and better manufacturing process (handmade) in order to attract customers

For emphasis this is a nike shoe that retails for $250

Compared to a relatively unknown high end company like mason garments that uses real leather and handmade and cost the same as the nike above

But what can you get to use for sports that's cheaper and better quality than the big name brands ?

Those shoes down there look like they are only for causal wear.

It depends on your budget. Filling pieces makes great sports (running) shoes in the sub $150 price point and they use far better materials than Nike and Adidas. They are usually heavily discounted as well. You can get them online for $60-80 on sales

I own two pair of filling pieces kicks.

1 you can’t run or do anything athletic in those shoes breh.

2 they cost on avg about 350 a pair that’s twice the price of your average Nike’s

Stop lying

Some are, some aren't.

Some of their shoes make the rest of an outfit look 10/10.

Yup, i got a decent air max collection at this point and by placing them back in the box at the end of the day and an occasional cleaning increases their life exponentially. They're a nice middle ground, iconic pieces that go well with mid range articles. High end shoes are harder to dress up with off the rack stuff that i get from Marshall's.
