Not a negative thread. I don't mind the idea of the best team winning over the course of seven games and the NBA doesn't have a hot goalie or a hot pitcher that can swing a series. You have the rare occasion where a team like Chicago loses their best player and deals with other injuries and they lose to an inferior team but for the most part you know the 8 teams that are advancing. Even last night, LA was expected to win and did. They blew a nice lead but they pulled it together when it mattered most. NBA teams rarely lose a game seven at home with notable exceptions such as Memphis just now but that was a 4/5 series.

Honorable mention: Floyd Mayweather. :takedat:

2 upsets in 8 series. grizz were -190 to win the series, and the bulls opened a whopping -1600 to win the series. we raked in cash from people who thought it was "easy" to just parlay the big favorites together in the first round

:pachaha:

Bulls would have beaten Philly if they had their full squad. I mentioned key injuries in the first post. It's not often the one seed loses the reigning MVP after the first game. I'm not counting it. I'll grant you the Grizz/Clips I suppose.. If Rose doesn't have a freak injury 7/8. Not bad.

injuries happen. the bulls were priced at around 95% to advance to the second round, and didnt. we had MANY 4 and 5 figure wagers on the bulls, in parlays and straight bets to advance because people thought it was free money. they learned the hard way theres no such thing as free money in sports

if you bet on each favorite to win 100 bucks (ie you bet 190 on the grizz to win 100, you bet 1600 on the bulls to win 100, 2500 on the heat to win 100, 160 on boston to win 100 etc) youd be down around 1200 dollars, even though you won 6 out of the 8 bets

So then it's the Rose injury. Like I said, freak injury. shyt happens. Enough of the gambling talk. This isn't about anything other than predicting right or wrong. What sport is easier to predict?

Hell, we'll even go second round. Take Celtics, Heat and Spurs. Leave out Thunder/Lakers series. People would be begging for another injury. How many people don't see those three advancing right now? Personally, I would be shocked if one of the three didn't make their respective conference finals.

1 and 2 seeds in the 1st round of the ncaa tourney is easier, if you wanna talk about top tier teams. plenty of 3 and 4 seeds lose in the nba first rounds. the top 2 seeds are FAR more likely to advance to the second round in the ncaa tourney than the nba
