I mean yeah it's anecdotal. But other ppl are even commenting on it.

Of course that is anecdotal as well, I realize.

I'm not going to argue the point as there is no type of proof I can give you to make you believe me.

But with that being said, I'm telling you my body has changed within 3 weeks.
Not trying to knock you breh but your body changing and putting on significant muscle are not the same thing. Can you get into good shape doing body weight exercises? Absolutely. Can you put on significant muscle only doing them? No.

I had a whole response written out for you brehs and got on the phone and when I came back, it was gone.

:beli:

Like I said, to me this is nothing to debate about. I see gains from what I'm doing and that's the most important thing.

I think everybody here wants to make progress. I feel like I'm making really good progress.

Now occasionally when I see someone asking for help, I will tell them what I'm doing. But other than that, for the most part I keep it to myself cause brehs that are more formally in the gym aint trying to hear all this... and I get it.

I've seen a lot of progress from bodyweight calis, and this is my path for now. At some point after the pandemic is over, I do plan to get back in the gym and get to my benchpressing, deadlifts and all of that. But for now, this routine im currently doing is working wonders for yalls boy.

But this is just my path and I'm not an expert by any means. I'm not telling anyone they have to do what I'm doing so I hope yall aren't taking it like that.

I'm a guest in yall house. Don't kick me out pls :lupe:

@OP: No, it's not enough. Let's not even address the fact that you've only directly targeted like 3 of your muscle groups.

Something like this will prolly lead to better definition through increased caloric expenditure than it would be to muscle gain.

Also, don't be surprised if your shoulders crap out doing this (450 BW reps of pushing/ 0 pulling) everyday.

@neotheflyingone You might have gained size in three weeks but whoever said it was muscle? :skip:

Some of what you are seeing is mostly likely a combination of the pump and sarcoplasmic hypertrophy, increased fluid/water retention, and possibly even optical illusions (you know you're working out so you think you're seeing amazing results).

Not saying that you aren't making any progress, but thinking three weeks of calis without optimal sleep and nutrition will lead to noticeable muscle gain is very suspect. :francis:

I'm getting sleep and nutrition tho. :lupe:

You are misunderstanding. Progress is great, nobody is discouraging you from posting but just pointing out tangible reality on a pretty researched topic.

:salute: on the gains

Not trying to argue with gym brehs... but my chest, arms and shoulders have grown significantly and I'm doing a lot of reps of bodyweight exercises currently.

Again, not trying to argue, but wondering what is the science explanation for that?

Breh like I said you can still do calis and get some gains, just add weight or do a more difficult variation
During lockdown I was out there doing ring dips, pistol squats, weighted push/pull ups
Ain’t as good as weights but way better than doing 300 reps of whatever

Optimal. Your diet is 100/100 (all macros met) and you’re never getting less than (roughly) 8 hours of sleep? :usure:

If you are, great. If not, then it’s not optimal and that’s okay too.

Actually regarding the sleep... I do try to get 8 hrs even if I don't get it all at night, I'll get it throughout the day. The reason being... I was doing this workout plan initially and not getting enough sleep and I felt like I was dying.

I found out the hard way that 4 and 5 hrs of sleep wasn't going to cut it. Once I increased my sleep, I felt a whole lot better.

Regarding the macros... can you expound on that? I know my diet needs to be better. Outside of cutting out sugars, I'm not sure what else I should do.

I'm not going to let you do that. You are trying to paint the picture as folks who lift are the bad guys. No one here said you were lying. No one here said you weren't making gains. Hell no one here said that you weren't building muscle. So don't do that. All we are saying is something that is back by years of tangible evidence. I'm happy that you found something that works well for you and I hope you continue to have success on your fitness journey.

No man, that's not what I was saying. You read more into it and ill take the blame for not being clearer.

The point that I was making is that I've been a casual over the years in this subforum and I've never just came in here and really spent the kinda time that im starting to spend now.

And I was making the point that brothas that's been in here, and that have been more committed on their workout journey than I have been, aren't trying to hear nothing from me... and I have no issue with that.

Yall got years on me. I mean that with all the respect in the world. And even if I feel that what I'm doing is giving me gains, I'm still here to soak up knowledge from yall and do more listening than talking.

That was the only point I was making and I'm sorry if it came off any other type of way.

I have nothing but respect for yall and that's why I said that I wasn't even going to attempt to debate any of you because I feel that yall know more than I do. Any advice or talking that I can do would be subjective and anecdotal and there's more evidence against what I'm saying than there is for what I'm saying... and I totally understand that.

I wouldn't even know where to start to even try to prove anything so I'm not going to try. That's not my purpose for being here.

I'm here cause I like to read about yalls journey cause its inspiring to me and it gives me motivation on my journey.

I take back what I said:salute:. I just hate that a lot of people on this forum are always taking shots at this sub section despite it probably being the most helpful area on this whole board(6 Fig board is up there as well) so when I saw your comment and took it as another shot. The only time you would get dismissed here is if you make some outrageous claim or just say something downright foolish. And even then, you would probably be provided guidance first rather than being completely dismissed:salute:

I totally understand. I know how it is when folks come with the stupid stuff, but that's not why I'm here. I'm making this life change, man and I'm excited about it.

And you're right, this place is helpful. Last night before I went to sleep, I was searching in here for answers for problems that I'm facing, and I found a bunch of really good stuff.

Y'all the real MVP's of the coli. :wow:

Not much to expand on since I don't know your: health history, food allergies/intolerances, job, money, and short- and long-term goals.

Macros are how your cals are split in to carbs, fats, proteins, (and technically alcohol).
