Are albums now leaking LATER than they usually do in the past?

They released it first to itunes. It went to retail like 2 weeks later.

yeah they basically leaked it early themselves, cause once it hit itunes..

I try not to listen to album leaks if I can help it only because I'm trying to retrain myself to listen to new albums in their entirety all fresh and unheard. I'm no purist. I just can admit that iPods/easy access to all new music ruined my attention span for a while there

I made myself a promise..from now..I wont listen to leaked songs, snippets..none of that fukkery.

Just wait til the full album comes out or gets leaked.

Im tired of listening to new albums where I already heard half the songs..

I've been doing this for a long time I end up downloading the singles but by the time I get round to listening to it (got a big back log of music to get thru ) the album or mix tape it's on has leaked

There's really not an urgency anymore, due to leaking song by song. By the time an album leak, you've already been spoiled with half of it. Albums used to leak entirely without hearing a single song, therefore the frenzy was met with thirsting fans to listen in a complete manner.

you just described a majority of mixtapes nowadays..

when artists turn in a project, theres a good 40+ songs.. most end up as mixtape tracks, reference tracks for their/other artists, and leaked "unreleased" tracks..
