Are a lot of the 90's and 00's southern hip hop artist making money overseas?

I'm curious as I see MC's like Jeru making their livelihood living in Europe performing their old hits. I see this with a lot of east coast 90s MCs. Are the Southern acts of that era being just as embraced overseas?

I've heard a song with Frayser Boy and a rapper from Germany I think, or some Eastern European nation, whatever it was I don't speak the language.

It's like O.C. said, Europe is really into what was going on here in the early to mid 90's.

They really want to see a lot of the Golden Era artists. Jeru's been over there touring forever. Dudes like the Cella Dwellas, Beatnuts, Hieroglyphics and Large Professor are always booked in Europe. They want the boom bap legends all day. I've seen a lot of people we used to listen to crazily here back in the day, over there touring when I've been there. It's like '94 all over again there right now, lol.

I never heard of Europeans respecting southern hip hop now I think of it.
You crazy. I lived in Germany and traveled throughout. They loved ANY hip hop, just as long as it came from America. This is from the largest club I’ve ever been to. Dance floor easily held 1500 folks and was 3/4 stories tall. It stayed blasting southern music. I was hearing Pastor Troy in Amsterdam in 05.

Houston music is huge in Asia. Check out Japan, they love DJ Screw.

It makes sense. Houston has a huge Asian population. Probably the most in America behind parts of Cali and NYC

It would only make sense that Asians in Houston eventually put their overseas family members on to the music they like.

They make their money here
At some point, people move on.

I was in Madrid and Paris last year and damn near walked into Large Professor and Jeru shows. They are heavy into DJ culture in Europe to it lends itself to playing those East Coast golden era MCs
