Yeah, I get that, but the characters kept pulling me out of the "creepiness" with what I thought was overt stupidity or lazy writing.
for example, the groundskeeper reveal was stupid on multiple levels. The guy who hired Dan knew everything about him, but somehow was oblivious to her.....OR that every time the main chick wanted to leave they came up with flimsy reasons for her to stay. The same with Dan.
they need to go
She had multiple opportunities to leave that house.
