#3 Star Wars Battlefront 2

The quest to clear out the backlog of only games I started and didn't finish continues. Personally I'm not the biggest Star Wars fan. I love the originals but I think Disney was a terrible choice to control the IP and they've done nothing worthwhile with it. Movies and games. Signing an exclusive deal with EA has been nothing short of a disaster so far. But I digress.

This game continues the now tradition of dice having throwaway, short, garbage campaigns. Unless you are a die hard Star Wars fan their is nothing here for anyone else. The campaign is short. It has 0 stand out moments. The story is poorly told and not interesting. The game has absolutely no rhythm. You can tell this was just assembled from many moving parts . The game plays less like it's interested in being a good game and more like a checklist for star wars geeks. One mission your luke, then flying the millennium falcon, then playing Leia, etc etc. It's just arbitrarily taking you on the world's most boring roller coaster hitting all the expected spots. It's a damn shame because the production values and graphics are beautiful. It should be a crime for it to have been this boring and soulless. But that's pretty much what I expect out of the Disney led star wars. Nostalgia pandering as they drag out a soulless corpse to fill up their bank accounts.

This was a bittersweet one to play. For years Housemarquee has been one of my favorite studios. They make well polished highly addictive twin stick shooters, one of my favorite genres. It's just pure gaming. But sadly, they announced they are moving away from the genre. I always hoped Sony would buy them up and just let them keep creating these niche masterpieces but instead they're branching out and said they're making a more traditional big budget game. I really hope it works out for them.

Where as Nex Machina was a masterpiece of simplicity this game tried to stretch their legs and do things different. Unfortunately it doesn't work as well. It's a 2D side scrolled with a character very similar to megaman. Art it's core when it's good the game is fantastic. Playing this in 4K HDR was gorgeous. The explosions of color all over the screen was breath taking. And if it was just a shooter things would be better. But it isnt. The game also tasks you with quite a bit of platforming and that's where it falters. The controls too often had me fighting with the game which was odd for a game by this studio. It especially comes to a head with a final boss that requires constant platforming and shooting with a huge difficulty spike.

I'm the end I had a lot of fun with this one but it's nowhere near as good as their previous titles. I just hope they don't over extend themselves on their next game.

I beat it last week. I didn't like the endings I got for Kara and Marcus. Kara's ending was.. bleak and sad. Marcus's ending was basically a pyrrhic victory. Connor's was so/so. The scenarios were really interesting with the android's dilemma and at times I was like "Lol these are just machines basically" but then on the flip side it looking/acting so real gave me moral confliction. I was blown away by the graphics though. The faces and detail to some levels were just crazy good. I definitely will return to it for a few more playthroughs later on.

:blessed: Indie Love

I had a ton of fun with this game. It's a 2D side scroller shooter with a emphasis on difficulty and violence. Right off the bat the game had me dying with difficulty options. You can play on casual, hard, harder, hardest. If you play on casual you don't get a trophy for beating it.

The game is fast paced and frantic as hell. It's again, pure gameplay and just plain fun. You die and die quickly. It only takes a couple hits usually to kill you. The final boss takes up like a quarter of the screen and one hit kills you. But I made short work of him

My only drawback for the game is their was only one boss. The game is broken up into 5 sections with each section having 4 levels in a new environment, city, jungle etc. And then the one final boss. I would have preferred a boss on each section. Looking at the credits the game was made by a handful of people so I understand they probably didn't have a ton of resources. Fun game anyway.

#6 Resident Evil Remake HD

I think this may be my 10th time going through Resident evil. Not just the remake the og as well but a handful of times on PS1,Vita,Gamecube and now in PS4. And man. This game for me has aged like wine. The remake added so many great additions. It's still cheesey as hell, but it has more atmosphere than most games. The Spencer mansion is just a master class in game design. Even after all these years I still get that feeling in the pit of my stomach about what lies in wait around the next hallway. I had a great time visiting this old friend again. Easily in my top 10 games of all time.

He used PSNProfiles • PS4 Trophies, PS3 Trophies, PS Vita Trophies & Trophy Cards

Put your PSN name in and select trophy cards. That alone doesn't prove you've beaten a game though. The best bet would be a screen shot of the actual completion trophy that shows the PSN name in the same shot. These trophy cards just show the last games you've played; for example, last night I was playing Odin Sphere, which is why you see it in the card, but I'm only on the third level.

As long as I can access someone’s profile and verify for myself that they’ve beaten a game by looking at their trophy list that’s enough proof for me. I never specifically said screen shots are the end all, just as long as some receipts aka access to your profile is gravy to me. It’s just a click away and takes me two seconds to look.

So I’m cool with a linked profile like that. Would be easier than screen shots. I wish they just had a photo app you could upload to straight from PS4.

If you have a twitter account you can take a screen shot of a trophy on your ps4 and upload it straight to twitter from there. :yeshrug:

The card is a link to the profile which you can see the trophies earned and what time it was earned.

After buying almost 200 games last year I told myself I was done buying games until I start actually playing all the games I have. This backlog is getting ran through:mjlit:

#7 Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back

I beat the first game within the week the collection launched. I had made it fairly far in this one but was crashed out and shelved it. This was just finishing it off. Still fun as hell. I miss platforming games like this. Not much else to say except this was a more polished game than the first and the slide jump was game changer addition. I'll probably hold off on playing the third for a while. I don't think I ever did play that one before on the OG.

8/10

Next up In gonna go back the first Watch Dogs and finally beat it.
