Personally Im cool with them. Nice people that are just trying to make a living.

Hollywood stereotypes everyone. Till people from whatever nationality/race/ethnicity/origin is getting dissed make their own movies in America things won't change.

I agree with you somewhat, but you had to agree with the point the guy made like how in the very beginning of the Alladin movie, it had those opening lines. The whole "cut your head....but hey its home" was kind of out of line.

But in terms of the whole belly-dancing examples the guy brought up, that is culture, I don't see anything wrong with that part. I do agree however in terms of the portrayal of violence everywhere, but the cultural aspects I see no issue with.

Watched the whole thing and I definitely agree with the common terrorist/villain portrayal of Arabs in hollywood. Im surprised he didnt really address the whole Jewish/Israeli connection with media in greater detail. I think he knows the deal and who has majority control over whats put out in Hollywood. With that said being a black male in America I cant really ride with him on his cause, we have too many of our own problems. A good watch nonetheless.

Good documentary. Well I think Arabs are looked at more negatively since 9/11 I mean every political thriller has us fighting some sort of Arab monster, really since Sleeper Cell. Come to think of it, very few shows have Arabs in a positive light so yes after Blacks I would say Arabs are the worst portrayed but then again who are the main people running these outlets?

Thank you for being one of the few to say something intelligent. As I said before the only aspect I disagreed with and thought the guy overdid it on was the bellydancing thing. :comeon: That was straight up silly and just harmless culture.

And yeah until I saw the documentary i did not realize the various examples. When I saw Aladdin tons of times I was too immature and young to realize that part at the beginning and I can't believe all these years I missed that.

It seems like immediately after our relationship improved with the Japanese ages after the bombings, we looked for a "new enemy".

We did the same thing with Native Americans, , Blacks(yes i know it still exists im talking about extreme), etc.

This is like a never ending cycle for us. Just like Japan its probably going to slow down much more decades from now when they have positive impacts on Western culture the same way Japan did.

Another thing that i find exceedingly annoying and frustrating is this whole ignorant "All arabs are muslims" that people seem to foolishly believe.

Lol man can you imagine Looney Toones was still in its classic era and releasing Arab propoganda the same way they did for Japan back in the day.

Why should I care, I mean it's not like they care about our struggle, especially seeing as how they treat darker skinned arabs/africans.

TBH I was kind of sympathetic to them how they were treated post-911 but now it's like whatever because a lot of North-Africans I've known in Belgium are racist (towards blacks and whites) as f*ck themselves. I didn't see the documentary but there's one thing that is hard to deny, it's the bullshyt that DOES happen in Arab and Muslim countries (extreme examples include the stonnings, cutting off hands for bs, riots because of cartoons :beli:, terrorism...) as I once told some north-african dude in Brussels, I was like people will stop portraying you guys as "fouteurs de merde" (people who just end up starting shyt where they go) when you'll stop doing it. Unfortunately it ain't Polish people or Asian messing up parties in bars in Brussels. And about Muslims complaining about "the West" going against "Islam"...when Saudi Arabia is transforming Mecca in damn near Las Vegas...it wasn't Westerners or "infidels" who were burning down...mosques in Mali. So whatever, I try to keep it civil like with any other people but there is no "solidarity" towards them because we're supposedly "cousins" :comeon: or "allies" :rudy: against "Whitey"
