It's definitely going to be a shameful part of history, but it's pretty much on Biden and his administration.

There's not much American civilians can do aside from protest, and the protests don't seem to be swaying Biden at all. The only thing I can think of that might've prevented this was if Bernie was president instead. Not to say he could've done anything to prevent the war but he wouldn't have been as irrationally pro-Israel as Biden, so maybe he'd have put the brakes on Netanyahu by now (and if it still happened, it wouldn't be on America's hands).
