It’s been years since I watched a WWE show in full, but for some reason I got the itch for this Wrestlemania. So I checked out some segments on YouTube to get me a bit up to speed with the storylines and to check out some of the names I didn’t recognize.
The two night format, I was a bit skeptical but great stuff. Enjoyed both nights for the most parts. Some notes on the matches from someone who checked out a long time ago.
Five Way match NXT Stand & Deliver
Watched this one before WM because I heard it was great. Didn’t like it at all, not my cup of tea.
Night 1
Austin Theory vs John Cena
Awful, awful way to start Wrestlemania. Slow, boring and this Theory kid is mediocrity personified. Cena looked flabby in this one, with the bald spot, slimmer build and low energy. I was starting to doubt if I made a mistake by watching a wrestling PPV again.
Fatal Four-way Tag Team Match
Should’ve been the opener. Everyone looked great and that rolling German Suplex on Strowman was crazy.
Seth Rollins vs Logan Paul
The days of celebrities like Snookie stinkin’ it up in matches are far from over, so it seems. Logan Paul is really impressive, even with the little things. Like spitting the water and not looking over at Rollins/KSI with the table spot.
Six-woman Tag Team Match
Most scary spot of the two nights was the Lita Moonsault. Damn, she has no business whatsoever being in a ring anymore. I skipped a bit here and there, sloppy stuff but not awful, I guess.
Rey vs Dom
A bit hokey with the family at ringside, but entertaining nonetheless. Amazing that Rey still can go like this in the ring, like 10 years ago he looked washed.
Rhea vs Charlotte
Match of the night, by far. Charlotte took some nasty bumps, the German Suplex where she landed on her nose, shyt. Hard-hitting, two great wrestlers, crowd was into it. Loved it.
Pat McAfee vs The Miz
I got the point, it being a cooldown moment and such, but pretty lame
Owens & Zayn vs The Usos
I wasn’t invested in the Bloodline/Zayn storyline and I don’t really know the history between Zayn and Owens. So knowing a bit more about that, would’ve made the match better I think. But decent match, made a lot better by the hot crowd.

Night 2
Brock Lesnar vs Omos
My most anticipated match for both nights. Just wanted to see Lesnar throwing Omos around and got just that. It delivered.
Fatal Four-way Tag Team Match Women
Weird match, seems like it was cut short or something. And is Ronda injured or something? Just got the win and didn’t do anything else.
Gunther vs Sheamus vs Drew McIntyre
I was looking forward to this one, I had never seen a Gunther match and I heard he was amazing. It was fine, after a while those hard shots and chops don’t hit the same anymore.
Bianca Belair vs Asuka
Great match! Bianca is obviously a star, she got the it-factor.
The Miz vs Snoop/Shane
Nothing to see here, move along
Edge vs Finn Balor
During the match, I thought the whole doctors coming into the ring really brought the match down. But having now seen the picture of the head injury, Finn is a tough sob. Fun stuff, but overall pretty forgettable.
Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes
Really had a big match feel to it. It hit all the WWE main event bullet points at the start and then they took it to another gear for the last 10/15 minutes. Match of this Wrestlemania overall, for sure. I would’ve given Cody the win, but hey.

Still watching the main event..Cripple H has fell in love with face and heels being on their knees face to face and throwing back and forth punches while telling the other one to bring it..This match..Charlotte/Rhea...Owens/Sami vs Usos...Edge/Balor..Sheamus/Drew/Gunther...

That's how it ends? More interference? Hideous..terrible night...Edge..that bullshyt loss for Asuka...the silly way Lesnar was used and this was pitiful.
Except now the show is tanked. No challengers. More boring Reigns promos. The Usos are handicapped with no belts and their slave gimmick is absolutely pitiful.
