Overnight stockers at walmart are the definiton of nikkas who are slave to a dollar bill. I remember working there, nikkas would ask to be moved from day shift or evening shift so they can work the overnight shift, just cuz they pay like 20 cents more :why:

Been looking for work for awhile, applied all over the area but nobody wanna call me back. My mom says you can come work at Walmart with me, their hiring overnight stockers right now. All you do is stock the shelves now that doesn't sound very appealing to me but she says she's sure they'd hire me. :ehh:

I put in the application wait a week and just when I think they must not be interested I get a call on some "we're not hiring overnight stockers right now but if you change your application to overnight maintenance we can get you in for an interview."

I'm like maintenance sounds much more dignified, must be some type of manager :obama:

I ask my mom whats overnight maintenance she said its a janitor :sadcam:

I'm sitting here thinking if I should apply for this shyt or not. I live with my parents so I don't necessarily need to take this job but this seems like a sure thing and its not like I have better options right now.
Don't go to college brehs:snoop:
Have no idea what to do with your life brehs :snoop:
Quit a good office job with no backup plan brehs :snoop:

Where's all my janitor brehs on The Coli? :lupe:

You sound like a little kid, man. The "janitors" at my job make 18/hr with full benefits. You know how many people out here would kill for that kind of money? :stopitslime:

Unless you need the money, that janitor job is not for you.
And working overnight means your days are gone, so it doesn't leave much time to search for other jobs or to even have much of a social life.

There's not anything wrong with being a janitor. Someone has to do it.
But you're young.

You should go back to school and get some part-time job.

I used to have that job. I would sweep sometimes and buff the whole goddamn store every night. Would not do it again but there are worse jobs i'm sure. You don't have to put up with customers or even other workers very much, but i hate working overnight hours. They will give you an extra dollar per hour for working overnight though.

All work is to be proud of. They see your work ethic, you'll move up.

Oh yeah, after you work in one position for a certain amount of time, you can be moved to another one in walmart. It was something like 3 months in one spot or something, but at the store i worked at, they would do it in less time than that. Of course, you would just be starting out and it's a different store, so who knows. Quoted this girl and was saying all this to the op lol.

So why you quit your office job?:jbhmm:

I didn't even have a good reason.

I worked in "Applicant Services" for a background checking company. It was a pretty good job it was just becoming to much pressure. It was my first job and after only a few months I was already teaching a group of people much older than me. Even my supervisor didn't know how to do my job as it was a brand new thing they were starting when I first started with the company. Everyone else who started with me had moved on and I was the only person who knew how to do it (in my office, there was another office where the person who taught me worked not to far off). For months I was the only person doing my job and they kept telling me "we're working on getting new people." They finally got new people so I trained them for two weeks, then put in my two week notice, helped them out over that final two weeks and I was gone. I definitely regret leaving. I thought finding work would be easy, but Walmart is the first place thats called me back in months. I obviously should have found a new job before leaving my old one but I was a dumbass.

you quit your job without another one lined up? Cmon my nikka that's some indica shyt :martin:

I got lucky and got a good job easily before so I underestimated how hard it is to get even a decent job and now I've learned my lesson.

Try Fedex and UPS they're always hiring package handlers around this time of year.
I was actually about to apply to UPS before Walmart called me today. Might be a better idea.
Go to college
I really should go to junior college atleast but I want to have some plan for what to study before just going and wasting my time.
Do you like cleaning shyt off the floors and walls?

if not, then don't do it, serious
Not really but I can atleast do it until I find something better.

How much they pay?

I dont know about yall nikkas but that sound like easy money + its graveyard, everybody be workin they damn self
I dont know what the pay is yet but probably somewhere around $9 an hour. It doesn't seem that bad the more I think about it

All work is to be proud of. They see your work ethic, you'll move up.
I agree on work ethic but I don't think Walmart is promoting people like that. My mom's been working there almost ten years and hasn't been promoted even once.

You sound like a little kid, man. The "janitors" at my job make 18/hr with full benefits. You know how many people out here would kill for that kind of money?
Yeah but this is Walmart. If they offered $18 a hour I would take it in a second but I doubt Walmart is paying that much. Some people would kill for any job. I'm lucky enough where I don't have to. I'm not trying to say theres anything wrong with being a janitor. I respect anybody who can put up with a shytty job for the money.

I used to have that job. I would sweep sometimes and buff the whole goddamn store every night. Would not do it again but there are worse jobs i'm sure. You don't have to put up with customers or even other workers very much, but i hate working overnight hours. They will give you an extra dollar per hour for working overnight though.

Yeah thats what I really don't like about it is those hours suck. I'm starting to think the actual job might be okay but those hours are gonna take awhile to get used to.

Unless you need the money, that janitor job is not for you.

A lot of good points here. They did say it would be part time actually so I would still be able to search for something else. I do agree that I should go to school I just don't have any idea what I want do for a career.

The problem is the pay and the hours... The hours will trap u unless u move up quickly
