I was waiting on this event to decide on a phone/tablet combination upgrade for me and the wife

iphone 5 ($199)x2 = $400
mini ipad ($329)x2 = $660

or

samsung gs3 ($149)x2 = $300
droid tablet ($149)x2 = $300



if I go android I'd almost have enough money left over to cop a mac mini for the big screen

You could just cop a Galaxy Note 2

I love my 3 and have no problems with it. If its just a new connecter and/or better cams who cares? They probably are only doing this so they dont feel pressure to release a new ipad in the spring. Hard to top the retina screen.

but its Apple so its worth it

I've already switched to the S3/Note II for phone....

By the time my iPad 3 runs its course next year I'd assume Samsung will have a tablet out that tops Retina resolution and offers better software features because we all know iOS is so I'll go that route...

I'll always keep an iMac/MacBook on deck because I still love the Mac operating system and hardware but I'm completely done with Apple as far as mobile products are concerned

New nexus 7 with android 4.2 next week

android tablets are trash they need developers to actually make apps designed for their tablets
I have a android phone n a google tv definitely not an apple fanboy
but as far as tablets its not even close apple is way better
