I'm all for ensuring wages paid align to cost of living. No need to sell me on that.

From what I glean from the article, the pay range today is ~ $17-30

What's being asked for is near ~75% increase for the lowest paid tier :leon:

Sure hope they get it. I was just asking what's the justification for such an increase? Just cost of living and/or have the skills/qualifications required changed over the years.

Costs will be passed down to consumers

What's the justification for wage suppression and slave wages over the past 30 years? What's the justification for having tax payer funded social safety nets make up for what these companies should have been providing in the first place? Allowing for further syphoning of wealth from the people who have nothing, while also creating a permanent underclass of people who will never own anything and live purely to be a wage slave for the people that do. This works until it doesn't.

People need to be able to afford basic necessities if working a fulltime job. I don't care what the number is, as long as it provides what people need in exchange for their time.

I'll never understand these kind of posts.. explain why you have a problem with this?

Yall sound like corporate apologist. Have you seen the price of good and services lately?

If this sets a baseline, then this is good for everyone as companies are gonna have to start paying more to keep higher skilled employees as they'll start to realize they're underpaid too.

Simple people put time and effort into getting skilled.
You think they are not going to have an issue with someone not skilled getting the same as them
