Still can’t understand why the south don’t like unions

My dad told me growing up he couldn’t wait to move up north with his mom and brothers and get good auto jobs with unions and he was able to get hell of benefits and retirement pensions which he passed went straight to my mom and now she just resting taking it easy

Meanwhile my mom brothers back down south has nothing to rely on because they never had unions

Anything that is to the benefit of the worker is shunned and stigmatized in the South. Florida banned water and heat breaks last year for outdoor workers and i bet they still voted for Republicans or did not vote at all, at least the ones that can vote.

I still can not understand why you would continually vote in people that want to make your life a living hell just to get an extra few dollars in their pocket. Maybe it is because i am older now, but i can not give them the benefit of the doubt anymore: These people are idiots and will always be idiots.

Leverage isnt the same when the business can easily just shut down that location and move. The employees only have power if the business has no choice but to either play ball or go under.

Those people didnt vote against a union, they voted for keeping their job.

Also working in an Amazon warehouse is a part time thing. You dont want to be and they dont want you there long term. People arent going to vote for paying union dues in a job they dont plan on being at long term.

Bro… why the fukk would your job be telling you how bad the union is for you when they already don’t want to pay you more, give you decent hours, give you proper bathroom breaks, etc? Why NOW would they try to do something for your benefit?

People are so dumb it hurts.

That's illegal and wouldn't happen.
Its actually the smaller companies that have the leverage because they may legit be forced to close or move.

Bruh, it has already happened. They just dont use unionization as the official reason.

Its like when you cant fire a person for one reason so you make up another to get them out the door.

As a mangment person, there is a use case for union as it relates to pay and benfits. However dealthing with the union with everything else on a day to date basis is toxic as fukk. They are legally obligated to defend all workers from discipline. It sounds good but if you have a bully employee that starts arguments or sexually harassing other employees good luck trying to fire them. The list goes on and on with what alot of these folks get away with.
