I've made fun of the whole "green bubble/blue bubble" thing a lot but I've never had an iphone to actually know what the difference is outside of color. Can someone explain?
if your conversation isn’t in the blue. Its SMS. iMessage has many benefits including being used across the ecosystem, Your macs, iPads, iPhones.
The delivery notifications, read receipts. iMessage is instant messaging. If you don’t have wireless coverage but you have Wi-Fi the experience is seamless. Video files can be sent in full resolution.

At this point, iMessage is not unique in these feature but in the U.S. it’s the dominant messaging platform. Apple could also enable other technology to offer enhanced compatibility with non apple devices but they’d rather keep it inconvenient to communicate with non apple users

I have a iPhone 12 and iPhone 11, and 2 iPhone SE’s and on everything I love, iPhone be pissing me off. I just been with them for so long I’m used to it and don’t feel like learning a new interface. These nikkas try and lock you into they gay ass Apple world. Then doing dumb ass shyt like taking away the aux cord. nikkas just fancy for no reason. Either they doing too much or not enough at all.
I’m locked in because of iMessage, airdrop.

I don’t care about an aux in 2022 but then taking away SIM cards is a major annoyance for international travel.

Android got an ecosystem just like Apple tho. Especially if it's on the samsung side. samsung has the biggest marketshare for a phone company worldwide and even an bigger portion when its just android alone. any of this ecosystem talk with apple can easily be done on a samsung. i can connect my phone with my tablet, can even pull up texts and apps on my windows laptop and pc, and even mirror the screen on my tv, shoot even on my fridge. not to mention they also have watches, galaxy buds, and smart tags. i can even control the dishwasher from my phone. plus who knows what other smart appliances samsung builds cuz they just not a phone company but a technological appliances company. All the samsung products are easily integrated with each other just like the "apple ecosystem" they rave about. i would say the samsung ecosystem is more expanded and apple limits the users to their own.
eh it still a matter of preference
I control my house lights and locks with iPhone too with HomeKit. it works just fine for me.
like 5 or 7 years I ago I had the google home setup and used the Samsung stuff but it was way more unreliable for me than the HomeKit stuff I'm using now
it's more expanded but it doesn't work as well. LG is probably another company that has a large ecosystem but no one brags about their stuff
the watches, buds, and smart tags are all way inferior compared to the Apple Watch, AirPods, and AirTags
but once again this is for me. I'm guessing a lot of people in the US feel the same way since the watches and AirPods are leading in their markets.

They great but if your groupchat with the hommies and the group your going on a trip with is on iMessage it’s worthless.

For me, everyone I know is using iMessage.

Nah breh, That SIM card thing is a non issue, rest of the world has esim and half the time sims never worked for me even unlocked.

Worse case scenario buy a intl plan or rent a pocket Wi-Fi.

I was in South Africa this month and the carrier MTN spent 30 mins trying to get ESim activated in their system. Didn’t work, they sent me to a grocery store to get a physical sim because they were out.

I’m speaking from experience, some carriers globally don’t even have esim for the pre paid plans I get. It’s a PROBLEM. ESim activation his hit or miss and will not always be smooth some of these carriers are not prepared.

Yeah it all depends on preference. Someone already deep in the ecosystem won't buy things from the other one. Like I have no need for an ipad or airpods cuz my phone a galaxy. Same the other way. Someone still buying the products tho so that's why other ecosystems exist. I got into galaxy since the first one that came with a keyboard, epic 4g on Sprint, and I'm sure there are others like me as well, and same with people that got into iphone with the first one. First galaxy came out in 2010 and iPhone in 07 so after so many years people are deeply integrated in their respective ecosystems.

Useful, but they have 1 carrier for SA, Not the one I want and the data plans are double the price of MTN. This is literally why I still need physical sims. Ive never had an android but this shyt don’t change my next phone will be an android.
