Hmmmmm, not sure if I should keep my 14 Pro or make the move to the 15. Not gonna lie I got a gang of USB-C cables from my Pixel and Galaxy phones, would be nice to have just one cable. However knowing Apple they will make some proprietary USB-C protocol that only their cables work fully with.

The rumor declares that Apple has developed its own variant of USB-C for this year's ‌iPhone 15‌ lineup and comes from a user who claims to be an integrated circuit expert with 25 years of experience working on Intel's Pentium processors.

The authenticator chip allows Apple to encourage customers to buy genuine iPhone peripherals and receive a commission on MFi-certified accessories, but it also allows Apple to tackle counterfeit and potentially dangerous accessories.

Funny you mention it. Updated fast charging is coming only if you have the usb c cable Apple makes or third party with MFi certification. Either way people would need to buy a new cable

I have for the last few weeks after one of my kids broke my wireless charger.
MagSafe made USB-C a moot point to me. I do keep a lightning cable in the glove box of the car for emergencies but I don’t use a cable enough to sell the 14 and get the 15 just for that and I’m guessing a better camera. There’s always a better camera though.

Yeah I was agreeing no point in upgrading right now. The 16 will have to be something crazy different as well for me to get it since I really don’t upgrade phones like that anymore.
