Apparently Pokemon Sword and Shield sold 6 milly worldwide

The least they can do is make a spinoff/side story with dramatically different gameplay mechanics. All while leaving the main series untouched. They tried to do that with Final Fantasy (FF13 turn based while Versus 13 was going to be an action game)
