BUT I'm all for being tougher on illegal immigration (and crime in general) if it meant not being harsh on actual citizens, dont need cacs having an excuse to harass black immigrant communities even further, but something does need to be done.
Nah deportations is the main tool just ramp them up to appropriate levels. Biden is deciding not to deport.
Alot of people are coming cause they know there is a job available for them. If you block that you take away the incentive to come in the first place.
The threat of deportation will only discourage a few cause you just have to remain undetected and you can do that for months or years and come right back if you're deported.

Honestly, I can’t lie…. That is actually a smart idea and what’s been missing for decades. Ramp up deportions, create a way for dreamers to become legal (as the compromise), and it would be a pretty big dent in undocumented in general, until global warming makes living anywhere without a strong electric grid a hot death…..
I also think a lot of people stay the black market for jobs can support 10’s of millions easy. Caesar Chavez himself would be ok with this. The issue is this makes changes that don’t paint the undocumented as either angles, or saints, or even the main problem. It paints cheap labor as the problem and America just like the rest of the world runs on cheap labor….
