When will progressives realize that different states districts etc have different voting audiences?
In this case I think it's fairly simple. They elected her a year ago and the house has been fairly active towards the priorities they were elected for.

Why would folks just change their mind without any other reason?

I hope Ohio voters are smart enough to draw the connection between the people they vote for and the outcomes they get. Don't get cynical when you don't get progressive votes out of a non-progressive candidate.

Who is being cynical? Is there something on her voting record that is against what she ran on?

If so, is it major?

Progressive positions aren't the plum line for which voter issues are to be judged.

In her concession speech, Turner now floating the idea that she's going to run for President as an Independent in 2024.

Sounding like running for office is just a grift for her now :dead:
Yeah I’m seeing some vibes from her I’m not feeling. Just seen a speech where she was basically performing…using preacherspeak and referring to herself in the 3rd person as “Sista Turner.”

If progressive issues aren't what should be pushing the needle in that district, than what should be?

1 out of every 4 residents in that district lives below the poverty line. That's more than double the national average. And most of that population are black women.

So progressive policies offer nothing of value to people who are broke as fukk, with no college education? And in a district where black people are the majority? :usure:

Like he said, don't get cynical when the people you elect are pro-corporate yes men and women who don't give two shyts about you if there were better options available.

Breh, have you ever heard her speak in public or at a rally? That's how she always talks.

It might come across as cringey to some, but it's not an act that she's putting on. That's who she is.

And everything you're talking about is what she's ran on and what she has supported since being in congress.

Just say y'all mad Turner lost and keep it moving because we know y'all try so hard to make everyone a villian who is supported by the Dem party.:mjlol:

Breh, make up your disingenuous mind here. YOU were the one who just said that progressive policies aren't the end all be all for voters, not me. And now in your very next post you're suggesting voters who would benefit from progressive policies put her in power and kept her there because of......her platform?:dwillhuh:

Is it oochie wally or one mic? :hula:

So what you're telling me is you didn't know her platform when you were calling her a corporate stooge.

No, I'm telling you you're not making any sense to say progressive policies don't matter to voters, yet when I argue that the electorate in that district would clearly benefit more by supporting progressive policies, so those should matter the most to them, you immediately pivot to "that's why she won". So she won by apparently supporting something that according to you, the voters don't care about.:skip:

It's not surprising. Shytting on actual progressives while co-opting progressive language and filtering out their stances is Dem establishment 101. I'm just suprised to see you do it THAT quickly. Impressive. :whew:

she won because she's the incumbent running on the same platform she ran on before.

if her and Turner are both running on similar platforms then it's obvious there's other factors st play.

What you should be asking is Why the person you consider running on "the better policies" with a massive spending advantage continues to perform poorly in her home town?
