They totally dropped the ball on this...they were close.

IF this was stand alone it would have been a game changer. but since its not....I'm staying with the Maschine.

i dont think its 100% standalone ala mpc 2000, etc but i guess you dont need to have it connected to a cpu to run and edit and such with no drives you have to connect it to export but i think you can turn it on and create then plug in when your done. you will lose some features that require the software but i think from what ive read loosely that you arent tied to your laptop and such.

Yeah when you look at the tr-8, what made it so popular is that it was a standalone clone of the 808/909. Roland gives you the best of vintage and modern day creation.

And I hate the colored pad scheme. shyt is childish.

I don't mind the colors on maschine because it makes it easier and quicker to switch betwen groups(if you are doing anything live).
In the studio it doesn't matter though.

Akai has NO standalone options anymore. They are severely losing ground IMO. Maschine is owning the workstation controller market.
If NI fukks around and makes a standalone Maschine..Akai might as well just throw in the towel.

@Wally Russell there is a small discussion my thread about it because I asked about the akai software, long story short someone say to wait until akai's big reveal which was/is the touch, this video and a small discussion was started.

you should edit this one to the official thread so we can all commune in it and start posting videos and articles and such.

to be honest i need to see it before i rule it out. its not a first day cop or anything i have any aspiration to save up for nor do i think it'll be trash. i just want to get my hands on it or watch extensive video of it in action before i make a decision.

How do I do that?

Man I seeing this MPC Touch must be the same feeling when your child is born and the doctor comes back and says they're blind. What a let down.
