I'm a fan of Spike's but I couldn't ride with him especially when he hadn't even watched it. Plus in the end you have to form your own opinion regardless of what whoever says.

It was this track:

QT always kills it with the soundtracks and plays the right songs at the right time.

When that ross track came on, only thing I saw in my head was

@ people saying they were going to even partially base their decision on seeing this movie based on one iota of what spike said when you considered he added the following to his opinion of the movie:
"I haven't seen the movie"

Here are some tips when you see this movie.

• It's a movie about slavery in the south. The word ****** is used frequently but never at the expense of ridiculing blacks TO the audience (if this makes sense) as more just to show the casual nature of the racism during that time. It treaded the fine line of being uncomfortable and tolerable. I have to say QT didn't go overboard to point of it being a turn off here and did a good job in this regard, IMO.
• As long as you go into the movie not expecting roots and expecting something similar to Inglorious b*stards, you'll be good.
• If you find the above two things too hard to accept, the yeah don't see the movie.

Otherwise, the movie is fun as shyt and as a black person, this movie will not make you feel any less than at the end.

Regardless of QT vs Spike, remaking Oldboy is a horrible idea.

I applaud Spike for taking a risk because it is a disturbing film and will be a challenge, but it's coming off as something that he thinks will be successful simply because it will introduce the film to a Western audience. Can anyone see Spike bringing original twists to this? I can't. He's gonna water it down and maybe bring some social commentary. Result will be dull.
