The second part, if its a movie, couldn't Django just recruit runaway slaves and freeman to invade the plantation. Remember this is the creative control that directors should have. But it is not happening like that in Hollywood.

No. Again, once a bunch of black men get spotted without chains or white escorts in 1860's Mississippi, they're getting arrested, simple and plain. Logic or reality, call it whatever you want. It wouldn't be compelling.

And nobody's gonna shelve out a budget for a Nat Turner killing white babies movie, so you can shut that shyt down right now.

QT understands Hollywood and white people in their relation to black people. The movie crafted for the purposes that I stated...to lessen or eliminate the white man's guilt for his past.

Before I watched the movie, one of my black coworkers told me he saw it and was like :ahh::gladbron::lolbron: when talking about the movie. I didn't even care about the spoilers because the movie was what I expected. There are no curve balls with the racially tinged movies in Hollywood, there must be a white savior in them and a level of sugarcoating of black treatment.

But it doesn't do that at all. At least in the minds of the those with a working brain.

:stopitslime: Why are you trippin?

Go back and read my posts, this has been an ongoing conversation for a while and I already stated this many times and in other threads concerning Django. You are simply making assumptions about my thoughts on all these things without reading my other posts. I have received multiple daps and rep for my analysis of the movie.

You received multiple daps rep from random people? Clearly you must be the smartest one in this thread.

All I am saying is go back to my posts. All the stuff you are attacking me for you have giving some acknowledgment for. I know that people don't have time to read every post in this thread. Again, a lot of the stuff you said I agree with and posted earlier in this thread. Is that not enough for you? We are going back and forth over something we both agree with. :beli:

Says the white boy who admits to laughing while watching the film.

The theater I went to, I dont recall any white people laughing when the guy was gettign ate by dogs, or the two black dudes were fighting on the floor.

They more or less laughed more at the parts that were insulting to whites.

Beloved was a 80 million dollar drama that involved black people living in a post-Civil War America. Marvel's actually wrong that it didn't get critical acclaim; it has a 78% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It's actually a pretty good movie from all accounts.

It made fukk-all at the box office. Why?

1. It's depressing as shyt.
2. It's nearly 3 hours long.
3. It took place nearly 150 years ago.
4. Oprah is the star, scaring away most men from seeing the movie.

You can't just throw up any random story about black people, say it's really important, and expect people to come in the thousands. You gotta give people good reason to spend their hard-earned 10 dollars. And you know what, Jamie Foxx killing white slaveowners for 3 hours is reason enough for a lot of black folk.

LOL @ people saying "It wouldn't be realistic for Black Slaves to invade an Plantation" But in the next sentence defend that a Black Cowboy riding around killing white folks is realistic. People trying to have it both ways defending the film. You all do realize there were TONS of Slave Revolts on Plantations it's just White America whitewash Slave History so you never heard to much about it.

I agree with you. However, I'm of the opinion that it was a bait and switch though..QT made this movie "safe" for whites to get them to the theatre...then proceeded to shyt on them for 2.5 hours. That was definitely the feeling I got in the theatre I was in. White folks were MAD QUIET and many of them honestly looked ashamed of themselves, as if they got waaay more than they bargained for. I think all those white people were shocked that they were portrayed that badly and of the atrocities they committed...and while we're at it, were shown how their ancestors fukked up the consciousness of both black and white people in America to this day.

Regarding the bait and switch and white saviours...even the white saviour realizes how fukked up he is by putting himself in a "I'm good cuz I help negroes" position at the end and then basically sacrifices himself. This film is going at white people HARD.

But I also feel this film is going at black folks as well...I'm just not quite able to articulate it yet...

:wtf: Now you are putting words in my mouth.

Which slave owner did Django kill?
