I hear ya, propaganda isnt a bad thing in and of itself. just the callousness with which Bernays talks about manipulating the masses seems demonic.

ah, didnt know u were being specific in regards to the book. havent read it, something about old ass books

lotta people doubt that there are men pulling strings and controlling how people think, but that shyt is definitely real

first thing i thought of when i saw thread title. the science behind it is

im familiar with the dude. he didnt invent PR, he did do a great job promoting himself as a guru-celebrity and many decades later, people overstate his influence. but still he was great at his craft. you could say his contribution was combining various principles that were in use before him into a ready made set of tactics at a time where the economy was capable of turning more people into consumers, and electronic media would make the cultivation of a person or group's image more important.
