Can someone tell me the appeal of the whole album? :skip:

Everyone talking like this is going to be a classic. I dont get it.

It doesnt have game changing production. Its sounds like the rest of the albums these days. Same computerized beats.

You might be thinking Im an old head who doesnt get modern hip hop. But Im only 23 so age is not a factor.

My gripe with Kendrick and some of these new cats is that they are lyrical. No doubt about it. But at the same time, they have zero mic presence, swag, charisma. Kendrick is no different.

Im not checking out an album just for the lyrics. I want the whole package.

The last classic westcoast album for me was The Documentary. Anyone actually thinks that GKMA is fukin with Documentary? :heh:

Having said that, I really liked Good Kid and Compton though :ld:

Great thread. Being an intellectual lyrical rapper can only get you so far. Dude's swag is -10. Then you see him in real life and he's a corny westcoast hipster who's 5'3.

I'm buying it but its no section 80 , or anywhere near close to it . It damn sure isn't the once in the life time album he was talking about. A lot of the hooks, as well as his voice switch ups are terrible

This right here.. Ppl dnt seem to get that all these things are important in the overall package of the MC.

Being a lyrical beast will only get you soo far..matta fact...it wont get you very far at all.
You need charisma, mic presence, that voice that demands your attention, etc.

Still havent heard the album tho Im waiting it out like a gentleman.
Fck the rest of yall impatient bishes :pacspit:

I know right :heh:

Some of these cats are just begging for a classic

Kendrick is my favourite rapper after Freddie Gibbs and maybe Wale. But come on nigggas is buggin man. The album is just good and perhaps even a disappointment:manny:
