Say what you will about the masks (and I know they don't prevent you from getting shyt),
I miss those bonus checks and the ridiculous amount of overtime that was available.....Covid was the best/worst ever in nursing, the bonuses were absolutely insane. I paid off so many things and have a killer savings.
Butttt a lot of people lost their loved ones.
Just curious...I was with you till this part.
Just curious...
Do you object because you're antimask or because I said it doesn't prevent the mask wearer from getting it?
Masks have been used in Asia since long before COVID, by people who have a cold, so they don't give it to others. I have been to Japan twice, and saw it first hand. Masks do help you to not spread things to others, but they DO NOT prevent the wearer from catching something. The CDC and them were saying the same thing since almost the beginning of the pandemic, and again, this has always been common knowledge in Asia.
I've never been a mask warrior on either side of the argument, but I'm just giving the information I have.
The key word (which you highlighted), is SPREAD.Brehhhhhhhh.....

Can face masks help slow the spread of the virus that causes coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)? Yes. Face masks combined with other preventive measures, such as getting vaccinated, frequent hand-washing and physical distancing, can help slow the spread of the virus that causes COVID-19.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends masks for the general public. If you're in an area with a high number of people with COVID-19 in the hospital and new COVID-19 cases, the CDC recommends wearing a well-fitted mask indoors in public, whether or not you're vaccinated.
The CDC says that you should wear the most protective mask possible that you'll wear regularly, fits well and is comfortable. Respirators such as nonsurgical N95s give the most protection. KN95s and medical masks provide the next highest level of protection. Cloth masks provide less protection. The CDC says that surgical N95 masks should be reserved for health care providers.
