I was thinking they clocked cos am in the UK and the accounts Argentina. Do you guys run a VPN at all times?
Nope I haven't turned on my VPN once since I signed up
I purchased a family plan using my VPN in Ukraine. Then, I created a family group and invited my main gmail account to join and when I tried to accept the invite a message popped up saying, 'Can't join family group: It looks like you're not in the same country as the person who invited you.' I followed all of the instructions in this thread. I tried logging in to my main gmail account while the VPN was turned on, deleted all cookies and the same message popped up.
I wanted to invite other people to join my group, but now I don't know if I can. Has this happened to anybody else? Is there any way around it?

make the family group first, invite whoever, then do the trick
that's what worked for me
just be aware that you can only leave/join a group once per year
