When I ran track in highschool I went from shin splints to hairline fractures.
Go get that checked out man. My shins were hurting for months. I went to the doctor and got checked by a specialist. Found out I couldn't run or play basketball for 3 months

Shin Splints are no joke.

Had them during my basketball days in HS and I'd want to tap out during practice, but I just had to fight through em.

I still play basketball regularly but I don't get them anymore. Only thing I can think of is a) I have better shoes and b) I started lifting after high school, so maybe my legs can better absorb the stress I put on them when running.

I'd toss those payless shoes to the bushes and invest in a good pair of running/workout shoes.

It lasted a couple months too.

I had to put icyhot on my shyt before games just to make the pain tolerable. It only hurt when I ran though, if you're in pain when you're just walking breh :patrice:

i used to get them when i started back up running..in my case i was running on treadmills with basketball shoes on...i got myself a new pair of running sneaks, really went hard with my lower body work, and wore a brace on my knees for a little..and it disappeared

suprisingly not for me considering I run 20-25 EVERY week outside on the concrete.


I used to overlook this but breh you should look at different options to get in that cardio. Run on a track or switch to bikes or something.


Your knees will be :flabbynsick: in a few years guaranteed running that much on concrete.

you can help relieve shin splints by walking around on your heels on carpet. lift your toes up off the floor and walk around on your heels. I read that years ago and it helps when i have had problems.
