Ive seen the documentary and although I appreciate that he was able to adopt healthier habits, I dont consider long term juice "fasts" to lead to sustainable fat loss. He was on an extremely low calorie diet and jogged for long periods of time. Anyone will lose weight (and muscle mass) with that.

If juicing is the only way for you to get your veggies in , then do it. However, lean proteins With your veggies can probably help you better achieve a healthier lifestyle without starving or feeling like you are on a diet. The part I took away the most is how he emphasized replacing your bad habits with permanent good ones, and to me, any cleanse or long term fast doesnt smell of permanence.

Yeah this definitely isn't a long term solution, but in the short term it should give me a solid jump start. All I'm looking for at this point.

I did a juice fast 2 summers ago for 2 weeks. The first few days were awful. Your body will detox and you will shyt uncontrollably. You will be irritable and just feel like shyt for like 3 days. After that though, it gets MUCH easier to maintain. I also found that using orange juice is kind of like cheating. Even if its fresh oranges. The base of most of your juice should be carrots. Then you can go greens with it. Be careful with that ginger though. It can get you on :whoo: status.

How much is this Juicing running yall in the store? Buy all ingredients at once? How long does it last.

Really considering doing this for 2 to 4 weeks if I can maintain. Constantly like to challenge my body.

There's no way a juice fast is very healthy. You're missing out on certain nutrients and really only ingesting carbs. No fiber at all.

If you want to lose weight, a high-protein, high-fiber, low-carb/fat diet would be much more effective. The fact of the matter is that your body takes more time and energy to digest protein than carbs or fats. In addition, fiber slows down digestion and keeps you feeling full longer. So having a diet devoid of any protein or fiber is the last thing you'd want to do. Living off juice will probably just cause nutritional deficiencies and fukk up your blood sugar.

These fad diets man :snoop:

Word. Just finished a smoothie with a gang of kale, celery, pineapple, banana, grapes, and a little frozen fruit. Threw in some chia, added ice water, and I'm feeling nice and full. This will keep me good until my eating window tomorrow around 6-7 PM.

ONLY carbs in things like carrots, spinach and kale? No fiber? :comeon: Might wanna look up the nutrients in veggies, friend.

Gotta look around. I found a spot in Brooklyn where you can get 12 oranges for a 1.99. My initial purchase ran me for about 40 bucks and I got a shyt load of oranges, carrots, apples, kale, spinach, ginger, grapefruit, grapes, cucumber, broccoli and some other things. Shop around and find good fruit stores in your area.

I've never done a juice fast but I do make protein drinks out of my fruits and vegetables. I start with frozen fruit as a base and then I add carrots , some sort of green and a scoop of protein powder and milk (rice, soy, almond, or cow). For extra protein I will use plain Greek yogurt and once I added tofu (did that once and the taste wasn't bad) If I use all fresh fruits/vegetables, then I will use ice instead. I sometimes add agave, sugar or juice concentrate as a sweetener to improve the taste.

I make about 16oz worth and store it in a insulated cup and just sip on it over the course of an hour or so and it keeps me full until lunch.

I try to buy from a produce market or produce farm stand and a week's worth for just juicing may run $10-15. The grocery store is always a bit more expensive but honestly, by day 3 or 4, I'm not fukking with it anyomore and I get sick of drinking my food and a lot of it goes to waste.

If you can easily go to the store, buy two days worth first and then you can always re-up. I've found that you only care about how much money you spend when you're tossing old veggies. If you use them, you won't care.

Seems unsustainable and not really productive. Wouldn't eating the fruit and getting the fiber along with copius amounts of water make for sense?

Drinking your vegetables is way easier than eating them, imo. Unless you just dig veggies like that.

Easier but is it better for you? I'm referring more to fruit. I'm not talking about a smoothie a day but I don't know if a juice fast makes a lot of sense.
