What are some benefits that you like about it? How long have you been apart of the credit union? Any dislikes?

I have navy federal. Highly reccomended. So here are a few tips. Navy federal care more about loyalty, consistency, and time with them than anything. They don't really give af about how much money you got cause most people with navy fed got money. They good. IF you put in about a 1 and some change with them and have accounts with good standing with them. nikkas will you give crazy low interest rates, extremely high cc balances. I am 21 with 2 20k limits and 10k clc. If you see unrecognized charges or even jus regret buying sum let em know u wanna dispute n they ask no question. Money back instantly and they usually curtisy ship a new card. They not nosey or annoying and them nikkas really go out they way to help. Finally the customer service is second to none. I love them calling. NEVER had to ask to talk to a supervisor unless the person I was talking to just did not have the same screen

I bank with Navy Federal, only bad thing about them is they have a fairly limited branch/ATM network but pretty much everything else with them is solid as hell.
Yeah that seems to be a common thing among credit unions is not enough locations in comparisons to large chain banks. And most people don't want to be charged for withdrawing from another bank

Yeah being a member of a CU the service I hear people get is always great unlike large chain banks where they might have to spend 30 minutes on the phone with a robot before even speaking with an actual agent
I second this.

I joined navy federal when I was in the military.

The best company I've ever had to deal with
That's good man can you elaborate on what makes it the best?

I have accounts with 2 different CU's.

The benefits are no monthly surcharges, low interest rates, you get both a savings and checking accounts with your share, I always speak to a person when I call customer service and free online & mobile access for quick transfers & deposits.

I've never had any problems in the 17 years I've had my accounts.

Nah, go big or go home. Bank of America for me.

Wire transfers are instant. I do not pay any monthly fees.

What you guys are praising about CU are very standard to almost all banks.

Love
I have the following memberships
  • USAA
  • Navy Federal Credit Union www.navyfeferal.org
  • Pentagon Federal Credit Union www.penfed.org
  • Space Coast Credit Union (formerly Eastern Financial Florida Credit Union) www.sccu.org Note: I just closed that account after 20 years. I had it since i was a teenager
I absolutely refuse to bank with a regular bank and i havent since since 2000.

Drawbacks
  • Limited amount of ATM locations. However they do reimburse you for all your ATM fees you were charged during the month. At least USAA and Navy Federal do.But i rarely use cash anyway. Only times i do is when i get a haircut or something
  • Limited amount of locations. But Who goes to the bank anyway?

Benefit
  • You have access to better loan rates as a member
  • If you have direct deposit, your money is in the bank earlier than other people using regular banks. My coworkers typically get their money in the bank on fridays on a pay week. My money is usually in my account at 6:20AM on Thursday
  • THeir Credit cards tend to have better, more customizable benefits

Lack of ATMs is the only downside for me honestly. I've had a really good experience with mine.

Are you in a rural area or big city?

With CU24, you can go to any Credit Union's ATM and withdraw cash free of charge. Also, all ATM's at 7-11 are free for CU members.

I'm located in DC so there are plenty of other CUs and 7-11's here. I have no problem finding an ATM when I need one.
