I think it's a combination of my opinion and not the best pictures but them strings look far as fukk away from the fretboard and frets....idk though.
How do they feel? You shouldn't have to push the strings down but 'press' them to make contact. These look like you could almost slip a pencil under them.

I can't really play but i noodle around on the guitar sometimes.
Like anything, stay disciplined, stay focused, don't try to go too fast. If following video tutorials, go to the end first and see how they play. If you don't like what you hear choose a different tutorial. If you got a teacher, just follow what they say and again, try not to go too fast.
If you have a long drop on your strings it isn't a bad thing and it's not the end of the world. The only thing it could affect is if your fingers aren't hitting in the right spots to make the note play cleanly, or if it's causing you to fat finger, mute strings, not be able to play chords correctly.
It's still mad playable, no reason to give up or put it down until you can get someone to check it out.
Ive told this story before,
I knew a white boy, he bought like a $60 guitar from Kmart when Kmart was around. Only thing he's do was work (at a pizza place) and go home smoke some weed and play his guitar. This was before YouTube tutorials. He basically had a little chord book, just had all the shapes, and your basic scales. Dude never took any lessons, didn't really have a guide or a mentor. Anyway dude became nasty with that little Kmart guitar.
I introduced him to a cat I know who's entire family plays guitar (his dad, older brothers) and had literally been playing all his life, and was/is very very skilled, every year from elementary to high school did his thing with the guitar and impressed everyone, anyway even he was blown away, was on some "how long you been playin? Where'd you learn that??" Didn't believe that he'd learned on some piece of shyt Kmart guitar and hadn't been playing long, but he saw the Kmart guitar and why would someone lie about that?
Anyway they ended up playing guitars together at the pizza shop, it was dope.
Moral of the story is don't be set on having a special guitar or strings or set up...Just play, learn, play and learn. As you get better and bump into things that need to be changed, modded, fixed, upgrade, do it as necessary.
If you have a PC I'd suggest rocksmith 2014, even though you have an acoustic, there is a model version that allows you to use your pc/laptops Mic. Therefore you can sit in your favorite chair and play and your Mic will pickup your notes and you can practice chords and exercises.
A lot of people use rocksmith to learn song, when in reality, it'll teach you the fundamentals in a way that seems like you're playing a game, but you are actually practicing and mastering the fundamentals of guitar or bass. Being able to play cool songs or play along to cool songs is the frosting on the cake.
They have a guitarcade that teaches you scales, chords, slides, tremolos, all the fundamentals, but then you already said you're doing spider exercises, they have a pack is a bunch of guitar exercises, the bpm starts low maybe 60bpm and the exercise goes up and up until 120bpm. You you can practice and practice and practice until you master or are able to hit 100% of the notes or just feel comfortable. The packages are easy, intermediate and advanced and there's 2 volumes.
And there is a community that uploads other songs that weren't officially licensed, therefore if you want idk...a tribe called quest or something, you can search and see if someone already uploaded that song, or you can request it and someone will make it, then you can learn and play it in rocksmith.

Idk. If you don't already have a built in Mic on your monitor or laptop, then honestly some headphones with Mic input work. Windows isn't that complicated.

Speed comes with repetition. You might have to just keep going through them over and over hundreds of times, eventually and naturally you just speed up.

Classes have been going good. She wants me to bring her songs to teach me but all the shyt I love be too complicated and she can transcribe by ear on the spot quickly!
Put me on to dope black music that’s acoustic or simple like no 7th chords and shyt like that.
