Just want to know if anyone has ever been extremely depressed. Like no matter what they do no matter how much they laugh or enjoy themselves, theyre still sad and somber. Have you ever thought of killing yourself? What did you do to deal with these problems? I'm talking non drug solutions.

I know you said no drugs but worst come to worst smoke a blunt, kid.

There's gotta be something in life to bring you joy. Think back to your happiest moments from the past. Change is hard to deal with but it's the only thing constant in life. Sometimes thinking back to a time that was "perfect" can stir up some positive feelings.

Play some music that you listened to during those happy times. Maybe there's some fragrance like a cologne or incense that you burned. Scent has a strong tie to memory.

Just try to change those thoughts. You have a roof over your head. That's something to be happy about. Now just add onto that list...

Good luck, breh. You'll be okay.

I think patience is the most vital thing to focus on when you're in a state of depression that deep. Most of the time we get depressed because things aren't going the way we expected them to.

Talk to people you trust and let them know exactly how you feel. You may find out that just speaking the words puts the feelings in perspective, and you can build on that to snap yourself out of the rut.

Keep doing the things you routinely do. Even if you don't think you're getting anything out of it at the time, you'll appreciate it once the feelings pass.

If you're spiritual, pray breh. You'll be good.

Yeah this is good advice. It always helps to talk to someone. Message boards can be a form of that but in person with someone you trust is obviously much more potent.

Another thing that can help is drinking more water. Sounds silly but essentially what we're talking about is a chemical imbalance. Water cures all.

For me, music helped more than anyone/thing. I've never taken drugs for it, even at one point when I was basically a zombie; I didn't even walk the same, I was struggling so much.

I say make sure you're working towards something that you want, whether it's professional, personal or hobby/recreation. I was in the worst place at 19 but by 21 I was turning things around. Best thing I can tell you is not to worry about things you can't control and let tomorrow-you worry about tomorrow and today-you deal with what you can deal with today. Even if you're not living a great existence for a while and scraping by, when your time comes you'll still be here to enjoy it. Good luck though

try meditating. shyt is easy and you'll actually notice you'll feel better very quickly. meditating helps you control what thoughts you have, and makes you realize that thoughts are just that, nothing else. depressed people often think way too much, usually negatively, so this really helps.
