Great show, finished it in three days. Only thing wrong with it is the opening theme and obnoxious background music.
I'm almost done with season 1 (currently watching the penultimate episode).....

:mjlol: That theme song is :trash::trash::trash:

:dead: The musical score straight-up sounds like the musical score from "Arrow". So much so, I had to check if the Composer from "Arrow" composed the music on this show too.

Have you got into Starz's "DaVinci's Demons" yet?

:patrice: I thought Borgias (the one with Jeremy Irons) was quality. If he didn't like Borgias he probably won't like Medici. Might have to let breh sleep.

I'm gonna check that out now lol.

I need something similar to hold me down.

A bit of a warning it got canceled after 3 seasons. It was supposed to have 4. I thought it wrapped up nicely though.

Nah, dude. When I finished Showtime's "The Borgias" last fall, I looked up what happened to The Borgias in real life. And a bunch of key stuff from real life was supposed to big storylines in season 4. According to Wikipedia:

The series cancellation prevented the death of Pope Alexander VI and the succession of Pope Julius II from being explored, and the downfall of Cesare Borgia.

So Showtime's "The Borgias" is definitely an incomplete show. On the other hand, I peeked at the plot descriptions for the last season of the international version of the show, "Borgia". And the storylines that were supposed in season 4 of Showtime's "The Borgias" were done on "Borgia". So I guess I'll eventually watch "Borgia" too.

:russ: For real, makes me real glad netflix has a "skip intro/recap" button now. I wonder if it's the same for season 2

I got DaVinci's Demons on an external somewhere. Had to replace my PC a while back and I forgot about loading the content from external to the new one. I'll get to it.

:ehh: I thought about getting into the Borgia but I preferred the actors in the Showtime version. Also it seems like there's less of Micheletto in that one.

I tried to watch "Borgia" last fall & I quit after the first episode because I preferred the actors on the Showtime version too, so I feel you. I 'm currently watching "Medici" season 2 and it has a lot of the same characters & storylines as "DaVinci's Demons" season 1. I like it but.......

Actors on "DaVinci's Demons" >>>>>>>> Actors on "Medici" season 2. Man, both Lorenzo Medici's wife & mistress are finer on "DaVinci's Demons" and I can't stop thinking about the "DaVinci's Demons" versions everytime they appear onscreen on "Medici".

:ehh: Guess I'm starting with DaVinci's Demons instead after I'm done with The Knick.

I finished season 1 of "Borgia" (International version) last night. The show is different enough from the showtime version, i'd recommend it too.

While it’s educational rather than dramatic, Rossellini’s “The Age of the Medici” is excellent.
