Netflix dropped a trailer for season 2 (Starring Sean Bean) a week & half ago:

Watch the trailer for Netflix's Medici: The Magnificent, the second season of the ongoing anthology series that follows Italy's legendary Medici family, taking place 20 years after Medici: Masters of Florence. Season 2 takes us to the heart of the Renaissance through one of the most important historical figures of all time, Lorenzo the Magnificent - where an attempt on Piero de Medici's life forces his son Lorenzo (Daniel Sharman) to assume leadership of the family-run bank. Once in power, young Lorenzo resolves to do things differently, which swiftly brings him into conflict with the head of Florence's other powerful banking family, Jacopo Pazzi (Sean Bean). All episodes debut Jan. 25 on Netflix.

:mjpls: @MaliktheRapper Do you think there gonna cover Alessandro de' Medici on this show?: Alessandro de' Medici, Duke of Florence - Wikipedia

EDIT:

Here's a couple of other trailers for season 2:

The record-breaking show is back on Netflix this Winter.

The anticipated series comes back to Netflix on January 25th.

Watched the first episode and looked like :trash:. I had watched the Borgias years ago and seemed much worse. Is it work continuing?

:patrice: I thought Borgias (the one with Jeremy Irons) was quality. If he didn't like Borgias he probably won't like Medici. Might have to let breh sleep.

I'm gonna check that out now lol.

I need something similar to hold me down.

Assassin's Creed 2 got me interested in this era

Have y'all seen Starz's "Da Vinci's Demons"? That's another show that place in medieval Italy & heavily involves renaissance era Italian politics, the Medicis, & the Vatican:

A new look at the show and the character of Leonardo da Vinci. The creator, executive producer and cast members discuss what's in store for viewers of Da Vinci's Demons.

The Executive Producers and actors describe the fantastical world of Da Vinci´s Demons.

David S. Goyer talks about his inspiration behind the series, Da Vinci's Demons.

Just finished watching Spartacus and Vikings. was looking for something similar to keep my medieval /feudal drama fix going. This is next on deck.

:myman: Spartacus was a ride wasn't it?! I still got that show on rotation. :wow:

I recommend you give The Last Kingdom a shot if you can get passed the low budget feel the first season has but that shouldn't be a problem if you had none with all the fake ass shyt that was happening in Spartacus. :russ: Next two seasons are hardbody especially season 3 with netflix money now and they just got renewed for a 4th :wow:

:ohhh: So you cosign this? I let it slip the radar I because think I was juggling too many shows when it came out.

I've only watched the first 2-3 episodes of "Da Vinci's Demons" so far because I'm mainly focused on "Vikings" right now. But the 2nd episode got me got hooked. It helps that I watched Showtime's "The Borgias" a few months ago, so I'm able to easily understand the dynamics of Italian politics.

:ohhh: I just looked over the cast of season 2 of this Medici show on Wikipedia & I noticed they're using a lot of the same main characters that are used on "DaVinci's Demons". So it's probably safe to assume there are overlapping storylines between Medici Season 2 & "Da Vinci's Demons".

This. This is the issue lol....I cant get past the second episode. I can tolerate the effects for Spartacus bc at least it could hold my attention and I expect the gore factor . I started watching Tudors instead, then Medici, and leave TLK for last . After watching Vikings, I'm kind of *yawn at last kingdom. And I'm confused bc those are The Ragnars from Vikings in Last Kingdom .??

TLK's timeline is kind of after Vikings I think. The Ragnars you're talking about aren't related to Lothbrok at all but one of his sons named Ubba do show up as an antagonist.
