Each one of those players except for Harrison barnes had no real expectation of being anything more than role players. Harrison Barnes has disappointed in the NBA a bit, but his development as an NBA player has nothing to do with Roy as he is not his coach anymore. While at UNC, Barnes had the green light. He was our first option and was pretty much able to do what he wanted.

Now as to why we don't have any superstars? Because we don't get superstar talent often. As far as our recruits in the past decade and a half, our only superstar caliber people have been Harrison Barnes and Nassir Little. We don't get the John Walls of the world. We don't get the Demarcus Cousins of the world. We don't get the Kyrie Irvings of the world. Usually. What we excel at is team work and deep tourney runs.

2. You're talking about pedigree of players? We get fridge 5 stars and 4 star recruits most of the time. Especially after that stupid ass witch hunt from the NCAA. You can't expect those players to be stars in the NBA.

Look who has the high concentration of current players from specific colleges and they're nothing more than one and done facilities. Those players would have been great without going to college.

Our players have overachieved on average. You look at this year. Coby White and Cam Johnson got taken in the first round after not being on anyones draft board at the beginning of the year. That's through hard work, dedication, and skill people weren't paying attention to at the beginning. You think if Cam would have stayed at Pitt he would have gotten drafted at all?

Overall, I'm not getting your beef with Roy's players not becoming superstars. It makes no sense to me, because if you were actually paying attention about 99% of them weren't supposes to be superstars in the first place. Roy values seniority over what ever your ranking is. But if you're good enough to start, you will start. We can look at Kendall Marshall for that. Who by the way was having decent success in the NBA until he tore his ACL.
