Anyone else like Hardcore wrestling?

If it makes sense within the story then it's ok (to an extent)
Hardcore for no reason doesn't do anything for me anymore. That backyard shyt was understandable back when ECW and WWE Hardcore were around but it makes little sense now that everything's PG.
I can't lie I wouldn't watch a CZW match solely because of Botchamania.

As someone said earlier, ECW had storylines and legit wrestling matches mixed in with the hardcore stuff. It really started going downhill with XPW.

Hardcore wrestling like CZW and IWA-MS should be banned. That stuff is disgusting. I accidentally fukked around on YouTube awhile back and caught a clip of a guy getting a needle shoved through his cheek.

I don't mind a good 'anything goes' brawl but even ECW had some stuff that went over the line, IMO. I don't need to see Sabu and Funk getting chunks of flesh ripped off by barbed wire or New Jack stapling people in the forehead.

Well it certainly shouldn't be banned, if people want to mutilate themselves then that's their decision, it doesn't have any inherent value though, at least in the vast majority of cases. I don't know in what case it does have value but there are always exceptions.

The "Stong Big Japan" division gives them a much needed depth and quality to their shows.

But honestly, the Deatmatch division has been - for the most part - stagnant and boring in the last couple of years. There was a time were brutal deathmatches had great stories that went along with all the sick violence. Nowadays there's little to no emotion attached to the style.

Yeah, despite being known for their death matches, the stuff Daisuke and them have been doing in the strong division is by far the best thing about Big Japan.

Havent watched Big japan in years probably since 04. Everything ive seen was deathmatches. The only wrestling I remembered seeing was with Honma i believe. Has it changed since then or did i miss something back then?

I never watched the promotion up until a couple years ago because I just kind of assumed it was bad. They've been on quite a roll lately though. Lots of quality matches.

Even Heyman said that Sabu/Terry Funk match was over the top. I remember seeing that match on an episode on hardcore tv and being like

Blading is one thing...blood can add to the intensity of a grudge match...

But when I saw a guy deliberately get cut by a knife in the arm for a stupid spot (deeper than planned, no less), I was done with it. And like was said above, most "hardcore matches" usually involve shytty wrestling and spot-fests which make no sense. Also, light tubes are fukking retarded.

At least ECW still had storylines to go with the occasional hardcore stuff...although since I'm not 14 anymore, I think New Jack was just stupid. (this just reminded me of Mass Transit, too )
