In 2012? Hell naw.

Even in the 90's, it wasn't much. Never really my cup of tea, so to speak.

FMW was ok with me because it required some kind of story and most of the guys could actually wrestle. Then CZW and BJW came and completely fukked up what they built off of. It especially hit a low point when I first saw this:

Thats great :skip:

No seriously it's not because of the violence , it's honestly due to the probability of how little he was paid for that stunt.
:mjpls: @ his bulls#23 jersey :Laff::russ:

Big Japan Wrestling does it pretty well.

They keep things interesting by having a lot of good traditional wrestling, with some death matches thrown in for good measure.

The  "Stong Big Japan" division gives them a much needed depth and quality to their shows.

But honestly, the Deatmatch division has been - for the most part - stagnant and boring in the last couple of years. There was a time were brutal deathmatches had great stories that went along with all the sick violence. Nowadays there's little to no emotion attached to the style.

Havent watched Big japan in years probably since 04. Everything ive seen was deathmatches. The only wrestling I remembered seeing was with Honma i believe. Has it changed since then or did i miss something back then?

It has changed quite a bit.

It varies from show to show. There are times were there's like 4 or 5 deathmatches in a show, but that's the exception. The non-hardcore division (Strong Big Japan) is a huge part of the company right now. Every show you can count on at least a fun 10-12 minutes multi man match between promising rookies and established veterans and every big event has 2 or 3 very good non-deathmatch action.

Guys like Daisuke Sekimoto (the head of the training school), Yoshihito Sasaki, Yuji Okabayashi, Kazuki Hashimoto and Shinobu are the highlight of every show.

Since last year they are in an interpromotional feud with All Japan that has consistently delivered good to great matches.

I really don't like it at all.

I enjoy a match that is violent and at times brutal, when it has a great reason for being that way. The story must make the violence logical.

Otherwise it's just pretty talentless stuff with unjustified danger

JBL put it into perspective

I can't lie though when I was around 12-13ish I was really into the garbage shyt that foley, sandman, sabu, new jack, and all these other crazy motherfukkers were doing. But when I got older and was more into logical wrestling, story-lines, and psychology I started to turn away from the shyt.

When I saw CZW in the mid-00's, I really thought that shyt was way too over the top and pointless.
