I feel TLR (The booth and even JBO as well) are more accurate representations of "black culture"/ urban america than say Higher Learning...
I go there to stay tapped in
:manny:

I guess you could argue fast food is the most accurate reflection of american cuisine. doesn't mean it's not garbage.

I thought about it. A couple years back...

Now I casually troll / offer an alternative perspective.

HL has been dead for years though.

Dead7 is probably on the money, in regards to opinions of TLR, being more in line with "mainstream black america".
Hell no, TLR is when people experiences and perspectives are largely shaped by what they view internet without real world experiences to keep their perspectives based in reality

What? Going to vote doesn’t change my apathy. I cannot care to engage deeply in politics because neither side is serious about getting stuff done. Yes, the status quo is to drag yourself to the polls every 2-4 years to vote “not Republican” and pat yourself on the back. If that’s not a cycle that makes for apathy, I don’t know what else is
You mean get stuff done that is pertinent to you specifically right?

I see this being the opposite or apathy.

:wow:

My sister years ago was pointing out all the bullshyt / negativity coming from social media.

And I always dismissed her observations, kept saying ‘it’s just twitter’, ‘internet ain’t real.’

But she and you are right. nikkas letting the internet shape all their thoughts and talking points even if they realities contradict it.

Had a homie just last week going on about women’s standards being high income, 6 feet, etc….and pointed out examples in our own circle that refutes what he’s saying…and in actually was evident of women (stupidly in some cases:mjlol:) holding down nikkas with little to no income and/or no plan for life/family in general. Gave multiple real life personal examples and still this nikka just kept parroting YouTube/twitter babble.
